However, you're also quick to state my flaws rather than my strengths. You nothing more than critic who sits high upon a self-made pedestal! You and I are nothing alike for I strive and endure for the sake of my people! How dare you deem me as "brash" and "arrogant" when such flaws best suit yourself!



[ He growls deeply, almost too angry for words. ]

You've crossed me for last time. Save your sympathy for those wretched elves! They shall need it more than I once the mountain has been reclaimed. I need not you or others state my flaws like proud banners! If you truly cared for Erebor's people, then you wouldn't humiliate me so earnestly.

[ At last he finally calms down long enough for his mun to get a word in. ]

...Then why are you so eager to take my role if you disagree with me so? I do not understand you! I do realize that what I said about Master Baggins was quite uncalled for and wrong, but---

[ The King Under the Mountain groans in despair. Honestly, he hates dealing with this fool girl. ]

How hard it is to get along with ones mundane, isn't it? Obviously your mundane holds you in high regard though, and has a deep fondness for you. Else she'd not have ever made an account for you.

[ Despite speaking with this Elven Lady once before, Thorin cannot help but glower at her for a moment. ] Now you sound exactly like this harpy beside me.

[ Odd. Usually his glares have more of an effect. ]

[ what an angry dwarf. frodo has never met one like this, and he's seen gimli in a tirade. still, he speaks of erebor. there's a pause, a wary glance ]

[ It's at times like this that Thorin's wrath mirrors that of Smaug himself. However, the appearance of this young hobbit has quelled his anger somewhat. ]

Indeed, I do. However, I speak of Master Baggins with utmost reverence.

[ringbearer]

[ he knows living and dead linger here, and it's not hard to connect who this might be. he's heard bilbo describing his tempers in his tales many times before. ]

Then you know my Uncle. You are..Thorin Oakenshield, aren't you?
[ better not saying anything more then. ]

[Bilbo frowns as he remembers Thorin's harsh words...]

You only said what was on your mind, Thorin. Everyone is guilty of this...

[Calming down uncle Thorin is Fili's thing, not his, so Kili will get just become impassioned by the rhetoric.]

You are the rightful King Under the Mountain, she shouldn't dare speak to you in such a way! If my mundane did so....

[Well his mun doesn't, so the point is null and void.]

[She's dealt with dwarves before. Usually they weren't so glare-y but she knew how they could be.]

Then please, do not take so great an offense. Perhaps she finds your flaws endearing, for all the good she knows of you.

[Seeing Thorin using the full force of his bristling beard and bushy eyebrows is far more impressive than Bilbo wants to admit - you think he would be used to seeing this sort of thing by now, with the company he keeps these days!]

I presume the mun is disagreeing with you. Again.

[The key word is "again". That and Thorin seems to disagree with most people - Bilbo had never met anyone this stubborn until he met Thorin!]

An "uncle" is he? [ He peers at the young hobbit with a skeptical gaze. ] It would seem that our burglar is indeed an uncle.

[ His frown has vanished. ]

I do believe that Master Baggins has neglected to introduce us, young one.

[ His rage quells at the sight of that frown. ]

Nay, stay your words. I had no right to accuse you of leaving us when you've more than proven yourself to us.

[ringbearer]

[ there's a fond smile there, the moment bilbo is mentioned. it softens his face, as frodo bows his head with respect ]

This place works strangely. However he is my Uncle. Frodo Baggins, is my name. He has always mentioned you fondly, King Under the Mountain.

[ a pause, and fonder still: ]
You could say I grew up on your adventure together.

[A fight between a mundane and Thorin Oakenshield is definitely something to behold.

Only because Thorin would be on the losing side each time.

[ Clearly this is why we need Fili around. Clearly. At this rate, these two are going to entice a war here on Dear-Mun. ]

None of them have a right to look their noses down upon us! I would dare your mundane to even try lest they wish to part with their tongue.

[ It's always an impressive sight to behold, especially since this dwarf gets down right irate. ]

[ A tired smile appears upon Thorin's face. Quite an unsettling look since Thorin has a habit of scowling. ]

[Perhaps it's miraculously well-timed tact that stops Bilbo from chiming up that his mun would be entirely right on that point. The hobbit decides to go for a slightly different approach]

Maybe what she meant to say is you're very... [Bilbo casts around for the word] ...very forceful.

[ Taking bets already, Gandalf? His scowl deepens even further. ]

[ Now that wins an eyebrow raise from him. ]

What do you mean exactly?

I am glad that you feel that way. [He smiles a little.] Perhaps I'll continue to prove my worth. I'm not a warrior, but...I'll do my best.

[Of course, always when they're winning bets what Just smiles at the scowl.]

They only point out your flaws in the hopes you will overcome them, Thorin. Nothing more.
