I can't really say. When you're a Ranger you adapt to whatever kind's around you. And they all have their uses in missions and on the field! In the end I don't play favorites.

But I suppose it's common for people to be fondest of their partner's typing.

I prefer Dark types but that is what I chose when I became one of the Elite Four for Unova.

Dark types? Is there any reason in particular? If I'd have to hazard a guess though, it would be that you like the theme of "mystery".

Exactly. Chances are I'm going somewhere without Pokémon, but even with just my partner by my side I know I can be of help.

This Rukhgate place mentioned previously, I take it? I have a hard time imagining a place without Pokemon, but what you've said is likely true. With or without other Pokemon around, a Ranger should strive to help out as best as the environment allows, and even just a partner Pokemon should adequately help them achieve that goal. [Especially because Partner Pokemon are ~*~special~*~ and all that stuff.]
