[ You cannot voice test what cannot speak, mundane. This is a dog. He can fly, and fight, and play fetch in outer space but he cannot talk. There is no voice, and the only thing a dog thinks about is what it will do soon.

The only thing a dog knows, silly mundane, is what it is told and what it can smell. Maybe it also knows what it would rather eat, and who to like.

A superdog remembers things normal dogs do not. It still cannot talk. But it does know how to understand. And right now it understands and remembers from years ago what Procrastination looks like, though it does not know the word itself.

He has seen it before. Many, many times, with the boys he has worked with. And Krypto knows how to understand funny words like "study" and "I'm done" and "oh my god I give up".

He'd lick a mundane's face if he could. For the while, though, he's got a slow wag of his tail that's supposed to be encouragement. ] Rrrf.

[ Slowly leaning forward to sniff... Just hold still, kitty, while the dog figures you out. It's harmless, I swear. :| ]

[Kitty isn't thrilled with this idea, flattening her ears and looking disgruntled at the sniffing. But she stays put only long enough for him to finish before shaking her head and moving away. Well, away as in a circle around him to do her own inspection of his feet and tail.]

[ Wow, okay, no need for an attitude! It's just how his kind says hello. He wags his tail and is careful not to hit the cat as it sways. He also starts jumping and whining like a loon.

[Ooh. Tail. A tail that moves. Thyme focuses on the swishing back and forth...and reaches to bat at it playfully. Batbatbat!

And then RUN AWAY! Because she'll surely be in trouble for batting someone's tail.]

[ Not so much get in trouble for having Krypto fuss over it, but even he doesn't know that a mighty Super tail-swish may hurt the cat. But that doesn't matter now, because he's leaping to keep up with the white fluff ball of a friend. ]

[ Ha, cats just don't get it, do they? This is a Superdog, not just any regular old dog. He will just sort of float himself up and up, until he is eye level with the kitty. His tongue lolls happily after a good game of chase. ]

[ Krypto's ear perk up at the sound of his name-- yes, he knows it's his name.

But he doesn't know who this man is. Huh. Must be a friend of the family. ] Wroo?

sniff sniffs, and the tail begins wagging "Hello, comrade!"

[ Sniffing right back, then Krypto twitches and tilts his head to one side when Cosmo talks. He barks. Hey, that's no fair! ] Raff!

Cosmo can be sensink the power this comrade has. Cosmo's talkink is more than fair ... Cosmo offers squeaky bone?

Raff! [ Talk again, then! No need to let good powers go to waste, not when there isn't somebody around telling you "no". Krypto lunges happily for the toy, chews it a few times, then throws it up into the air. --the squeaky bone landed farther than expected.

It's a free for all, partner. Let's see which old pup can capture the goods. ]

"Oh, this is how we are to be playink, da?" Cosmo says with the best attempt at a human grin he has, and makes a dash for the toy, a little telekinesis propelling him faster.

[ Krypto decides his friend is weird but like family, so he is good to always be around.

Even better, though, to pass with flying. ]

Now that is not to be beink fair! Cosmo will begin to be fightink fire with fire ... About now, comrad Krypto will will see the bone levitate off the ground, and fly towards Cosmo.

[ He slides to a stop, letting himself touch the ground again, twisting his head back to blink at an empty sky. He hadn't smelled his boys in the area. On the realization that neither Superman or Superboy were nearby, Krypto turns his attention back to the the bone.

And that's when he finds the culprit! One yip later, and he's racing towards it again. ]

[ It's OK- he'll give a lick to Cosmo before snatching up the bone! ]

[ Weird. If dogs knew that word, it would describe the sensation very well. Krypto doesn't budge towards or away from Alexis. He has an impassive look to him, but nothing dangerous. ]

Gah, I can't believe I'm actually asking a dog this...

Do you know where I might find Superman? I'd...like to work out an arrangement with him.

[An arrangement that tells him that Alexis has no interest whatsoever anymore in hurting or destroying him, and ask that he please leave her be if she promises to go straight and get legal work. No matter how morally reprehensible said legal work might end up being....like politics.]

[ He knows his master's name, too! Krypto gives a doggy grin at that and a bark, tail thumping on the ground where he sits.

It was just one attempt, in a moment of anger. It didn't even end up hurting him. And I'm sorry about it now!

[Pffft, no she isn't. She just doesn't want to try again because she knows nothing she tries will work. Yeah, she did some reading up on her most famous ancestor and would rather not repeat his mistakes while she's on her own quest for money and power.]

[ Oh, but the confession of her attempt to assassinate Superman -his- man, has Krypto's hackles raised. A steely gaze is trained on Alexis

and no, no he's not taking her to his master. ]

[Alexis gives Krypto a sad, pleading look.]

Please! I just want to set things right with him. I won't do anything to hurt him, I promise!

[ Now Krypto's gaze softens considerably. Those are words he knows. Friend is a good thing. But wasn't kill the baddest of bad things? He tilts his head. This pup is confused and conflicted! ]

[Krpyto's expression actually made Alexis feel guilty that she was only being half-honest with him, as she really had no desire to rekindle a friendship with Superman or even apologize for what she'd done, which she still failed to see much of her fault in. Still, she had no desire to hurt him, and she really did hope to have a peaceful agreement with him. And that was the important part, right?]

I...got mad at him and attacked him with a lazer. It didn't hurt him at all, just reflected off him and...well, it did a number on me.

[With some hesitation, Alexis places a hand on Krypto's head.]

Believe me, I've had my time in jail and I really have no desire to repeat it. I just wanna make a new start. Can you help me with that?

[Fauna can speak to animals, so understanding the big guy won't be trouble. Keeping him out of the garden can be.]

[ The garden can wait- there's a milk bone that needs his attention! After a quick sniff to ensure it's not laced with Kryptonite, Krypto will gobble it up.

Followed by doe eyes up at Fauna. ] Here now. He is good.

[Nope. This is just one of those home-baked, wholesome puppy treats. In her 'verse, Fauna handles the care and feeding of everyone at Titans West, the dog included.]

[ Those are his favorite words, and his favorite place to get skritched. Fauna knows him so well! Krypto's tail starts to thump against the floor. This is definitely one happy dog. ] Boy good. Girl good too.

I've missed you, big fella. Been stuck between universes in my game. Timeline I wound up in was kinda nice, but the others went bad places. We're all trying to get home.

[ Oh, yes, Krypto knows! He yips excitedly, jumping to reach Clark's chin to attempt to lick his greeting until he realizes he can just sit there and enjoy the ear scritches instead. Hmm, yes. ]
