Of course I miss it. It was better to me than Lima ever was. I wouldn't call that hot-ass mess a home unless I meant it.
But it's been a long time. Things are bearable here. Not great, but have they ever been? If I go back to Death City, and it's been over a year...
It might not be the same, that's all I'm saying. Seeing everyone here move on with their lives is bad enough, I don't need to repeat it over there.
You know, whatever. Lima, Louisville, Death City, I'm fucked either way. Do what you want.

I'm glad you were happy though...

I came out there before I came out in Lima. People are more accepting.

Right? It's a lot more work than it is in the movies, by the way, you can't just wrap it up with a neat little montage and 80s music.

Was it a lot more dangerous? Did you ever...you know, get hurt?

War isn't good, but I'm glad you have people there that look out for you. Everyone needs that. And...I don't want you to be alone. Like....ever.

Good. I'm glad.

It's only been a month or two back home. Nothing has changed. [ beat. ] Except Guy-sensei was sent home, and a carnival crashed into the outskirts of town and now you can go there wherever.

[If it were anyone but Tenten telling her this, she wouldn't even believe it. Gai was the first person she met when she arrived in Death City, and while their relationship had...ups and downs, he had done so much for her. For a while, he was the only one she really trusted.
She looks down, and tries to swallow the lump in her throat.]
I'm sorry. That really sucks. I can't imagine how that place can function without him. Other than at a much more reasonable volume.

Are you guys doing okay, with so many people gone?
