Hmm...
So you say you've got plans, huh?
You could get my opinion on 'em, yanno! I mean, yeesh, I'm not too sure I like the idea of going somewhere I can't race!
I just got a real kart and everything! And Stinkbrain's gonna wonder where I went!
If you're making plans I'm gonna make plans too!
Just you wait, they'll be the best plans ever!! And yours'll be like the clearance candy that nobody wants to eat! Or gum stuck under a desk!
Heh, heh...
Or gum that Ralph chewed! No one would want that, his breath's so stinky!

[Yeah he has no idea what that means. Though he does lower the staff a bit.]

Okay, so, you've got your characters that are programmed into the game, right? They're supposed to be there and everything's all good, so they don't do anything weird, they just play their roles.
Then you've got glitches. Spare code that's ... not really supposed to be there but is for some reason. But since they weren't made to be in the game, their code's not all right. Sometimes that happens.

[He frowned. Heeee admittedly didn't quite understand how code and programs worked, but that wasn't really the point. He looked away for a moment, before looking back at her with the traces of slightly unfitting grin.]
Y'know, I'm not really sure I believe that.
no subject
Why not? The proof's right in front of you!
no subject
And I don't believe here's anyone around here that isn't supposed to be around. Sometimes it just...takes you awhile to figure out why. Took me a while, that's for sure.
no subject
[That stuns her into silence for a few moments, and then she looks up at him, an odd expression on her face.]
You really think that?
no subject
[He finally sets the bottom of his staff back on the ground, kneeling down to look at her eye level.]
Trust me, I was just like you before; I mean, I didn't "glitch" but I had no idea why I was around. No one I knew did. But I figured it out, with some help. I'm sure you will too.
no subject
[She eyes him as he kneels down, but relaxes after a few moments and smiles.]
...thanks. I'll do it, I know I will. I've got help! The best help ever! ...but I think he got lost 'cause I haven't seen him in awhile.
no subject
Aw, I'm sure he'll show up eventually. He probably just got a little lost looking for your short mug in the crowd, but he'll find ya eventually.
no subject
Yeah, he gets lost a lot! I hope this time he doesn't get covered in taffy.
Hey, how come you carry that staff around? Do you herd sheep or something?
no subject
Oh, this? Well--
[With a bit of a help from a gust of wind, he returned to his feet and returned the staff to a one-handed grip.] It helps me do stuff like this--!
[He flipped it around so the curved end was facing down, and moved to touch the ground in a circular shape around Vanellope, creating an outward-branchig design made of ice to appear on the ground.]
no subject
[Her eyes go wide and she jumps, staring at the staff and then at the design of ice. She's absolutely still for a moment, and then...]
Wow! That was so cool do it again do it again do it again! Can you make pictures with that? Or is it always just that design? What else can you do?!
no subject
Hm... I've only done it once, but...
[He kneeled down again next to the frost on the ground, and used the blunt end of his staff to scrape out something that looked like a child's drawing of a racecar from the side. Then, he lowered his staff and rested his hand over the drawing, concentrating a moment before the outline lifted itself from the ground, the racecar forming into a three-dimensional creation of ice and beginning to speed around in circles in the air around Vanellope's head.]
no subject
That... is... so cool so cool so cool!!
[She giggles and follows the car's progress with her head, before finally stepping back so she can skip around in the same circle it's going in]
You're like magic or something!
no subject
Psh, of course I'm magic! You think any regular person could do something like that?
no subject
[Yeah, "cool" is definitely the word for him.
One might even say... frosty.]no subject
Thank you, thank you, I try. [He added in between his chuckles with a small half-bow.]
Name's Jack Frost. Nice to meet you, kid.
no subject
[Because they're pals now. Definitely. There's no denying it because this little kid has decided it.]
no subject
"von Schweetz," huh? Interesting... [Well, she was apparently from a video game. The race car finally stopped driving around in the air and exploded into a small snowfall above their heads.]
So tell me, how's your little racing thing work?
no subject
The racing? Oh, that's eeeeasy! Okay, so we've got a roster of nine racers for the kids to play as in the arcade! It changes each day. After the arcade closes up, everyone who races in the game gets together for a big race and the first nine across the finish line are the next day's avatars!
[She's really excited about it - or she seems to be, from the way she's gesturing. Her expression's a little off, though.]
And then when the gamers choose you, you get to race against everyone else! Except it's like they're driving and you're sort of along for the ride. But everyone's got their own kind of car and abilities and stuff, it's really fun!
The track's made out of candy too!
