Oh. This again.
[The old man in the spider-shaped, mechanical bed coughs a tad.]
Listen. Buddy. Pal. We know what's going... to happen. You're just... going to ditch me like before. I really can't trust you to give me the fun I need. ... that spark of excitement necessary... to keep this immortal life feeling... well, life-like.
[Hack, cough, cough. In his extreme age, he's not well.]
To tell you... the truth? Being inside the Absolutely Safe Capsule... is a lot more fun than... having to deal with your indecisiveness.
Come on. Be impulsive... for once in your boring, worthless life. Give me... what we both want.
Some world-shattering drama.
Please...? Hahahah, look, I'm even... being nice. Just... for you. You, worthless monkey... at a typewriter was given such kind words by... well, let's face it... a god. So... let's get going, monkey.
Type.

Oh well. Guess you better just stay safe in your Capsule, huh?

You want to talk about being real or not? Let's talk about how you're holding on to a wing and prayer just to get by each day, apparently.

... Heh... See, my being here is... something of a testament. To show how... Porky is eternal. The genuine article... will always persevere. Anything else is... a contradiction. Meaningless... inherently.
no subject
No really. What?
You're rambling, old man. Shame Giygas isn't here right now because I'm sure the two of you could have an awesome conversation with as much sense as you make.
no subject
Once we're... in the same place? Well, paradoxes... need to be resolved. There can only be one... as they say.
no subject
Know what? I'd rather be a contradiction than a failure.
And good luck with that. I'm wondering what you think you're even going to do. Killing me won't do anything, I'll just come back. And unlike you? I could give a crap about dying.
Not to mention how you plan to get anything done. Do you really think you can succeed with as many people there who could rival Ness? You couldn't even beat four tweens, or two teens, an adult, and a dog in the second round. What do you even think you're going to do against the people who would work against you there, let alone me?
no subject
Just... heh... where did you get your information? I won... the second round. The world was destroyed... by my hands. The Dragon was... summoned, the Magypsies are... all dead. I've shoved the world into death like it so deserved. I've learned... something. Sometimes? The heroes... don't always act so heroic. Sometimes, they do things... that are so irreversible. So terrible. That it's hilarious. They just have to... think it's heroic. And they'll do it. And it'll happen. Lucas did that...
I can make it happen... again. I can... destroy another world. All over again. And you...? You're based on me... except a weaker me. I can beat... a defective copy like you. Without even trying.

His lips start to tilt. Upwards a bit. And his chest heave. As if he's trying to fight back laughter. In fact, little bits of it make their way out when he speaks.]
Hey.
Wanna know something? Wanna hear something I found out while I was there?

[He smiles at the sight of Lucas. Normally, the old man would feel bitter about seeing the enemy that had stolen the role of hero. It was stolen from the one he felt it truly belonged to in his last game. This time, though, he's quite happy.]
Hey. Thanks... for tearing apart... that stupid world for me. It's about... what I wanted to do... with the Dragon.

Someone in Strength's family says the old has to go before the new can come in.

I agree. I don't know... why we fought so hard... with each other. It sounds like... we agree perfectly.
no subject
But the world... It did need to change. Milliways taught me that.
I just.....didn't like how it happened.
no subject
[His smile only widens. It hurts his face a little, so he relaxes it after a while.]
We fought... over a simple disagreement... of "how". This is just... going to repeat over... and over. You realize that, right? You stopped... nothing.
no subject
[The outcome doesn't lessen his reasons for fighting and not a single reason is stupid in his mind.]
You're probably right about that. But some things ain't about stoppin'. I know that now.
no subject
But you know, fear has a great deal to do with it! I've come to find that the more active we are, the more it bothers them. People like you and I, I'm afraid, who embrace our humanity more than most. It tears them to pieces, I must say, for them to find we have such a great hold. Indeed, that we're the kinds of things mankind is all about.
no subject
Heh... heheh...
Seeing the looks on their faces...? When they realize that? It's... always so priceless. I mean... just look at what... we humans are capable of. We humans... are the real embodiments of... evil. They try to... look away from that, forget, and smile, but... you know what? They keep... doing the same, stupid things... over and over again.
I just wish... I had a camera when they... do. Hehe, say... "fuzzy pickles", everyone..!

After all. He was completely sane. The Major was sure of it.]
Since we crawled out of the mire of the primordial soup we've done the same thing: try to escape ourselves. We escaped from the water because there was something in there too frightening, too dangerous, to continue to survive. And now that we are on land we've found we are the most dangerous ones. And we try to hide from each other.
Or kill each other. Whichever proves most efficient and useful at the time.
But you know! That's what I find admirable about mankind! As much as they deny themselves they still act on their impulses! They still can't help but make those choices not because they're forced to but because they want to, in their own way! We are creatures truly with a will of our own!
It just happens it's often in accordance with nature that we aim our wills.

After all. He was completely sane. Porky was sure of it.
At least the man didn't hate him. He could appreciate that much. But at the same time, he felt a greater sense of danger from this man than even his mortal foes.]
It's what... it all comes back to. Say that... the entire world tried forgetting what had happened. Let's just... say that. Everything would just... go back to square one. Because men can't... help it. They're naturally just... this way.
I admit that... this monkey show is all... fascinating in its own endearing way. I've sat in... the audience forever, but... I've never seen you. So. Who are you?
no subject
To sit in the audience can be enjoyable but I must say it's not for me, my friend. I appreciate being a participant, of doing. An actor in my own way on the great stage, you might say, even if just a bit roll.
As for my title? The Major will suffice. And who might you be, my friend?
