It's fine. I'll fight their war against the frost giants and Ragnarok, all of it. Just as long as you promise to keep her out of it. Anything happens to Jack, and the whole deal is off.
( but the most depressing thing is: alex knows he hasn't really got a choice. he's only saying these things to make himself feel a little better about the whole thing. even the illusion of control of better than fear. )
