We come out of it all decently enough. No bombs in England. Kept having some trouble in Northern Ireland but that's mostly cleared up and peaceful now.

From where you are loads and loads of new toys. Forensics seems to come up with something new every year to help solve crimes. There's a specialist for everything now seems.

[He thinks for a moment, remembering what the police were like when he was growing up.]

You're not allowed to rough up suspects anymore. Lawyers get in and tend to muck up everything. The death penalty has been outlawed and... Well, there are days I feel like I'm a relic around here. The police force gets younger and younger.
