[Sephiroth laughs low, equally humorless as his vicious smile. Arms spread, palms up, he turns his gaze upward.]

I am the chosen one. This Planet will brought to its knees, and I will be a God. [There is a long pause, as if reveling in his glorious plan, then he slowly lowers his arms back to his sides.] But I don't need to be a God to see through your lies. You will receive no more mercy than those who took this planet away from Mother.

Meteor will soon open up the heart of the Planet and the Lifestream will flow forth into me. There is no stopping it.

You will not destroy me. [And now she's going in on the offense. She was always quick, something she was prideful in. Light on her feet and without hesitation, Tifa quickly closed the distance that the dangerous blade covered, aiming a frustrated punch straight at the mad man's face.]

[A low hum, the sound of amusement, is the only response Sephiroth gives her remark. Tifa is quick to be sure, but he wants to see her step it up a notch. With blurring speed, he glides off to the left, the swing connecting with naught but his hair as it whips with his movement.

Unfortunately, this close proximity due to Tifa's fighting style just puts her closer to him and with it, he intends to carve Masamune into her back if she neglects to move.]

[At this point, Sephiroth turns his gaze back to Genesis. Masamune is in his hand now, thirsty for blood.]

[A lie-- back then, he did care for Genesis's wellbeing. He and Angeal were his only friends. Now, however, Sephiroth has become cruel and sadistic, and he only desires to see that pain in the other man's eyes grow stronger. The six-foot blade rises, parallel to the ground.]

Allow me to finish it now.

[As if he were giving Genesis an option. Sephiroth lunges the longsword forward with the intent to plunge it through his chest.]

[This does stop him. It's an ability Sephiroth has not witnessed before. For good or bad, he's intrigued. He can practically feel the chill coming off it. After studying it for a moment, his feline eyes center on Maya.]

[He saw the lunge and quickly side stepped with a beat of a heart. He would defend himself but deal no damage.]

It seemed like more often than not, her enemies preferred to use a weapon that would force the young martial artist to keep her distance. And she couldn't very well do anything if she didn't get close. It's not like she really liked using materia, not that she had any in this place.

So with hurried movements that were just the teensiest bit clumsy, Tifa was able to move away in time. Though she was forced to move away to a safe distance. Damn his lengthy sword. She was being forced to stay on the defensive.]
