Super duper new character - Spoilers for 2x08 abound

While I'm grateful that I - instead of one of the many others who are much more likely to interest one such as yourself - was the one who caught your eye, Lady Mundane... I cannot help but think that your timing is a bit horrible.

Your screaming is also horrible, you know. It's been some time since you watched those events play out. It would be best for both of us if you stopped now.

[She frowns, looking quite troubled.] If you wish for me to speak of the things that have transpired... I'm sorry, but I'm afraid I'll have to decline. I'm not quite sure how I should be feeling right now.

[It's not really easy, learning through outside means that you are currently without a heart.]

[ Simple. Direct. Thinking constructively instead of actually dealing with how she feels about all of this. Yep, sounds like Mulan. ]

Hopefully without compromising Snow and Emma's best chance to return to where they belong.

[Her voice is firm, but not harsh. Not angry. Just stern. She knows full well that just her heart, and not her entire self, is a much better bargaining chip to obtain the compass.]

Of course it's no contest! [Oh well now her voice sounds a bit harsh. But only for that brief moment.] Mulan, they have families to return to. That little boy, Henry... he needs to be reunited with his mother. If... if losing my heart to that foul woman means they can be happy, then it is an acceptable loss.

[She lost her chance at happiness. It would be selfish of her to put others through that pain as well.]

I don't want to be the reason why they're stuck in our world forever.

[ At first, she thinks Aurora is talking sense for once - which was a nice hope for about 0.5 seconds until she had to keep going. Gods, but she could sound like Phillip sometimes, and maybe that's why she finds it twice as frustrating. ]

Snow is already from this world, and they're not the only people who've lost familes or friends.

I swore to protect you. To keep you safe. Not part or most of you, but all of you. You don't owe them anything, neither of us do, and to say something like that is "acceptable" is the farthest thing from it.

But this world is not where she belongs. Not anymore. Her husband still resides in that other world... so that is her home.

[Even a palace can't really be called home without the people you love being there to spread that feeling, can it...?]

We offered our assistance, didn't we? I'm not going back on that promise, no matter what. If I must make a sacrifice... it's something I can do. It's something I will do. You may not think it's acceptable, but I do.

[She failed to stop Aurora from being taken, and now because of that she has no heart? Mulan has never been more disappointed in herself.

I know you're blaming yourself for this. [Perceptive little princess, isn't she.] Don't.

[Mulan wishes it was as easy as that. She's pretty sure 'have heart taken' is on the list of things not to let happen to Aurora, but it did and there was nothing she could do about it.

She's not going to confirm or deny that out loud though]

[If her heart staying in the hands of that woman meant her newfound friends had a better chance of returning home... well. Honestly, Aurora doesn't want it back. But she's not too keen on arguing over this again... so she just frowns.]

Then we'd need to find a way to put it back. I'm not sure I've ever heard of magic like that, though.

Neither have I. [Magic isn't really her thing. She's never needed it.

In her opinion, a blade is far more reliable]

If we can get it, and you, back to Storybrooke. Maybe...[She can't hope that Regina will be able to help them, can she?] Maybe we can find a way to do that there.

[... Right. This... Storybrooke. Those who know that sort of magic just as well as Cora does currently reside there, don't they.

It doesn't really put her at ease, though, having to ask for help from that evil queen or Rumplestiltskin.]

"We"? [Despite the serious tone of the conversation, the corners of her mouth twitch up into a small smile.] So you wish to visit that town as well?

Of course. [Mulan doesn't want to be left behind.

And if Aurora isn't in this land, there is nothing else keeping her here so why should she stay?

That and it does sound like an interesting place to go]

[The smile widens.] Good. I'd rather not be all by myself in what will most certainly be a very strange land.

[Mulan smiles briefly] I assure you, I will not let that happen.

[sleepsthrough]

[Seeing Mulan smile - really smile, not just smirk or light curl of the mouth - causes Aurora to laugh, just a little.] I'm glad. Perhaps this will mean that I'll finally be on equal footing with you.

[She tilts her head a little out of confusion] What do you mean?

[Being a Princess is above being a warrior, after all.]

[Psh, that's not how she sees it!]

Well... look at the way Emma and Snow dress. How they act. That strange weapon Emma has... their world is quite obviously different than ours! I've a feeling that we'll both be quite out of our element, so we'll be even in our attempts to adjust to an entirely new realm.

[Mulan nods in understanding] I suppose you are right.

[She's not looking forward to seeing- well, hearing- more of those 'guns']
