Commodus, Emperor of Rome ([personal profile] unlistedvirtues) wrote in [community profile] dear_mun2012-11-25 04:24 pm

Voice testing! New muse is so very new.

[Have an emperor who's only barely controlling his aggravation beneath a thin veneer of contempt.]

This idea you've presented would make my life a dire comedy, My Lady. [He sneers the honorific.] I will not tolerate it.

I am the Emperor of Rome. No man [and especially not a woman] can portray my life. To even think that you could recreate any shred of Rome's glory is laughable. The life of a Caesar is only lived, do you not see? It is untouchable to the common mob.

[He settles stiffly in his seat, as if even dealing with his Mundane is so very beneath him.]

Consider this fair warning to abandon this foolishness and return to your petty toys. I'll only extend such mercy once.

[He's just going to stare at you for a minute before actually speaking:]

Well well, looks like we've got a real charmer here, folks.

[There's a bit of a pause again before he decides to comment on what Commodus has actually said.]

Emperor of Rome, is that so? Please forgive me for being rude. How should I address you, your Highness? [No, that wasn't sarcastic at all.]

[ He's contemplative. But when is Maximus anything but? There's no hint of aggression, or even contention when faced with the princeling. He'll tolerate Commodus; always has, since they were young and raised beside each other; Maximus due to the charity of Commodus' father, the Emperor.

He's certain that Commodus will never allow him to forget it. But it doesn't concern him.

The Spaniard approaches-- cautiously.
] But, liege, what is the Emperor without the common mob? Just a man, wouldn't you say?
