She better not! Far as I know, this time she's just gonna f-f-fry me up a bit an' then have me KO'd for a lil' while.

Electricity, uh, kinda? S-she says it's gonna be kinda like a system overload. Which sounds preeeetty awful if ya ask me! I guess I'm only lucky that I'm only part electronic!

[head tilt] You're not all electric?

[he gives off a small puff of steam, almost as a display.]

Only my brain's electric! The rest o' me is steam powered! Oh, and, uh, there's also the stuff my core's made of, b-b-but I'm pretty sure I shouldn't talk about that.

[The little puff of steam made her jump, just a bit, raising both brows. Whooooa. That was cool] But... but if your brain is electric and she's frying that then isn't that... I mean, that's nearly like killing you, isn't it?!

Dat's why I'm gonna be KO'd, she says. Soma kinda surge-prevention thing or somethin'. It all sounds pretty hokey ta me, but I guess Pappy mighta thought about dat kinda stuff back when he suited us up to join the army.

[frowning at this.] It does sound kind of hokey. Your, ah, Pappy? He built you for war? I thought you said you were a musical automa--ah, atumat--er.. a musical robot.

We were originally supposed ta be m-m-musicians, but then some stuff happened and he ended up havin' ta send us inta the army instead. We got back outta it, though, and now we're back ta playin' music!

For 116 years old you've sure seen a lot, haven't you? [envy!]

Yeah, you betcha! But I b-b-bet you probably have, too, huh?

[frowns and shakes her head no, sadly] Never really been allowed outside of dad's Hotel.

Whaaat? Ne-ne-ne-never?!

It's... not safe. I mean, I got to go out at last. For my 118th birthday, I made him promise I could go out and see a human village! But... [She made a sad little face, arms around her middle] It was frightening. They tried to bite me. They were walking around on fire and just... humans are weird.

Huh. I never saw any humans who acted like DAT before...

Really? [A bit confused sounding, head tilted, frowning.] What do humans act like?

We-well, they usually act a whole lot like you an' me! Af-after all, I was programmed to act like a human, y'know!

[ohhihumans]

[A bit of a disbelieving brow raise there.] That can't be right. Humans... they don't like people like me, or maybe you. I'm not sure about you, but they used to chase uncle Frank around with fire. And... and, yes, well, Fire bad. Humans don't like vampires. All monsters know that. Do they really act like us?

Well, yeah! 'Course, not all of 'em act the same. N-no two humans I ever met were exactly the same! Not even Walters II and III, and they were tw-tw-tw-twins!

And, uh, pa-pardon me for sayin' so, but the reason humans don't like vampires is 'cause all the stories anybody's ever heard about ya makes ya sound, well, scary! An-and downright dangerous!

Huh. I've only ever seen the other monsters. My dad runs a hotel for monsters. I bet you'd be okay to come to it, though it's not that impressive. [Only because she had never been outside of it for 118 years so... yes.]

I... I don't think I'm dangerous. And my dad? He's for a mean growl, but he doesn't even drink human blood! Humans are a lot more dangerous then we are! I don't have my mom because of humans. Monsters all over are attacked or screamed at, or... or chased with fire!

[She's not offended by his comment, just surprised. She wanted to meet humans, but after the village incident she's sure everything her father and uncles and aunts said was true.]

Humans are pretty dangerous sometimes, yeah, but, we-well. So was I, a long time ago! Besides, that do-doesn't mean all of 'em are dangerous! Why, if it weren't for some hu-humans, I woulda been outta order ages ago. They put me back together!
