Why?

Because. Because this planet has begun to think in concepts less outmoded than light and dark. They have begun to think of things as past and future, and I, my dear, am the past. All the terrifying heroism and blood-soaked pettiness of it, all of the love and the ordinary, dusty grind of life, all of the mystics and the angels and the elder gods.

As for knowing my mind... That is beyond even my reach, and, lovely girl, as one of the new gods I am truly, madly, deeply powerful.

So: come along.

Try me.

You gods. You all talk like that. In the end, you're still humbled by the Muns.

I assure you, there is nothing "dear" about me.

Planning on worldwalking?

Good luck.

You'll need it.

I think you'll find immortality is a fickle thing. Many of the gods are reduced to our mere mortal standards.

I don't know many humans who try to make their own luck. Most of them are resigned to fate.

At least, that's how it used to be.

You've never met Prince Hector.

[She doesn't know how to react to that...]

Gods...

Who was the God of Fate?

I have enough problems with the gods I know. I don't think I want to deal with new ones.

That's been difficult enough...
cassie_of_troy: (Entranced)

Or unborn, as the case may be...

[She considers this a moment, then nods.]

Good.

Tolerable? Not a word I often get.

I infuriate most gods. And mortals.

I can live with that.

Not much of a choice in it.

Gods in general are a bit passé, aren't they?
tothefairest: (in ur base killin ur dudez)

You can't really take that as flattering, though. Most people believe in some pretty stupid shit.

I never really saw the point of gods, though. I mean, presuming you are, in fact, actually divine and not just some delusional dude, what are you all for?
tothefairest: (trollface)

[personal profile] tothefairest 2012-02-05 06:08 am (UTC)(link)
Well, like, metaphor's pretty and all, but is that all you do? If you do, that totally sucks. Do you even, like, get to smite anyone? Or seduce mortal women or something?
