(no subject)

What sort of foolishness are you embarking upon now?

[ A dramatic sigh passes through his lips as he regards his writer's intent. As one could imagine, he's not very fond of playing the role of the "muse". Especially since he has more pressing matters to attend to. ]

You wouldn't summon me so idly if there wasn't a scheme or two involved. I know you well enough not to trust your wayward endeavors; therefore leave me be.

[ After an unamused glare, Thorin goes back to studying his map and smoking his pipe. ]

...Crossing these lands will be most treacherous. Goblins, trolls, and Orcs alike linger there. Much fighting will be---Are you still there?

[ There's a laugh in the background, one no undoubtedly belonging to his mun. ]

Must you linger over me like an ill-mannered harpy? Begone with you!

[And there's a very soft laugh from Celebrían.]

Oh come now, Master Dwarf, I'm sure there's no ill-intent.

It sounds to me that your journey will be perilous.

Is it truly worth such peril just to collect treasure? There are better things to be had in life. Treasures without value.

[Nothing wrong with that~]

Then why have you done so?

[Don't be rude, she likes dwarves. Celebrían finds herself a comfortable place to sit, meanwhile.]

I see. He who stole from you must be great indeed, for it is a great task to take that which a dwarf cares about.

Ye forget spiders, sai.

That depends on their size, sai.

Not if ya fly into a web, sai.

Oh now Thorin you needn't yell! Whatever is wrong!
onebadapple: (Do as I say)

[personal profile] onebadapple 2012-11-10 04:57 am (UTC)(link)
Now Thorin, I'm sure it's just a misunderstanding. Something might just have been misunderstanding. And you'll feel so silly for being so mean.

What made you think she was doing it in the first place?
onebadapple: (Is something wrong?)

[personal profile] onebadapple 2012-11-12 01:25 am (UTC)(link)
Oh now, no one is perfect all the time, Thorin. A misadventure is sure to happen every now and then.

I wish there was a way I could assure you that everything will be alright.

Goblins, trolls, and Orcs! And fighting! Must you say harpies!

[Bilbo has that distinctively pained expression on his face, the hobbit giving a squeak of alarm. After losing some of his wine glasses to a company of dwarves, apparently only the promise of injury and/or certain death is enough to get a squeak out of him.

Thorin, however, seems to be exceptionally good at adding more and more to the list of horrible things. Right there at the top of the list is his idea that they ought to head toward, and not away, a Great Big Dragon.
]

Maybe a proper scheme might be an improvement over previous...plans. [Why yes, he has that much faith in this endeavor]

I'll have you know I'm very calm - [Bilbo certainly sounds fussy, maybe so fussy that it's not fooling anyone, least of all Thorin] and furthermore, I would hardly call this a grand adventure! Adventures are, they are...

[Bilbo trails off, stammering. As a hobbit unhappily new to this horrid adventuring up and down the countryside, he can't quite say from experience what a proper Grand Adventure is supposed to entail. Up to now, that was something he ought to be proud of. Now he finds he's losing any ground he had with Thorin and his bushy eyebrows]

Well. Supplies, for one thing! [Of course the easiest worry Bilbo can tackle is the issue of food and thirteen dwarves with larger stomachs than he gave them credit for. Plus a wizard. Can't forget the wizard.] I suspect we don't have enough!
