Why? Every Persona game I've ever played pretty much hands you your first one just in time for your first fight. I mean, I guess they'd have to, otherwise you'd get creamed.

Of course you don't get anything really good until you can get into the velvet room, but I guess there's nothing you can do about that. The game would be boring if they just handed you all the cool stuff up front.

In that case the civilian group is probably better. The social links there might be easier to level...

But don't you think the secret organization option will probably have a better overall plot? That kind of setup is always full of a lot of intrigue. The civilian group will just put you on rails since all they'll be able to do is react to things until you meet a detective type character, and they almost never join up until late game.

Oh my gosh, you're right! The detective never joins up until way late in the game! And before they do the civilian group is stuck on a single path.

I can't believe I forgot about that...

I've killed plenty o' fiends, and I'm pretty sure it's never made me nothin' special.

And you'll get to meet more people if you join the secret organization, since most of those guys won't even have Social Links anyway.

Of course, you'd be playing girls' side, though, so that might not work out quite the same way.

You'll have at least two shots at everyone anyway if you think about it, though. You usually can't get the True End or fuse the ultimate Persona until the second playthrough.

It depends. I think that makes the second time through too easy. It's enough to just have the compendium and your money.

Yeah, being able to just buy a decent persona makes a huge difference. And the fusion quests are so easy the second time through.
