[A pause.] It'd be really nice to see Claire again. And Kyp. Marco. Altair and Malik and Maya. Even if... I won't actually know them.

Kyp. [Her head tilts, and she smirks.] Do you really think I'm going to take "no" for any sort of answer? Besides, I know how to deal with unfriendly people.

[She grins.] I'm going to be even worse, to be honest.

You'll have me there, even if it's not like we'll know one another. Who needs boyfriends when you can have me? [That's a joke.

Very true. And it's not like we won't immediately get to know each other, anyway.

[Eyebrow waggling.]

We cannot know the road ahead until we have travelled it- and even then, we cannot anticipate what we may find along the way. Regardless of the future this place holds for us, so long as my memories remain intact I shall always hold you in esteem.

Even during those times when you are a fool. [ Because like he is ever any better about the whole 'staying out of trouble' thing. ]

[sacrificing]

Or unless you can see the future. Oh! Or if I could learn to travel into the future, then we'd know. [8D?] I guess we'll just have to find some way of saving each other again. I think I might believe you after awhile.

I don't know, Kyp might distract you.

I wouldn't be so sure about that.

I guess I am a lot more charismatic than he is.

No, I think it's just because we'll be a lot different.

[cheerleader]

[No no no, she won't think of things being different.]

Even if we come from different times, we'll still be the same people. We just won't get to spend all of our time together in space this time around. But I heard there's bunk beds in this new place. That's almost as good as space, right?

[isanovice]

Perhaps then. [ He doesn't laugh, but it's there all the same. The subtle upquirk at the corner of his lips is demonstration of humour enough. ]

One can hope that it will be nothing so extreme as before. [ But it was only a hope, and not even one that he wasn't sure if it was in vain. ]
