Hello mun. We haven't actually talked like this before but recent events certainly seem to require that we have some sort of discussion.

You've made decisions before that you knew would hurt us both, decisions that would lead to emotionally painful situations. I want you to know that we both chose this. We knew that it wouldn't last forever, that getting involved with her again was going to hurt, one way or another. Now she's gone and we both know exactly what shes going to go back to.
But deciding to push for this matespritship...
We both knew the potential consequences and we both made that choice.

The next few weeks or even months will be filled with the fallout of this, but I think we both will get through this.

Now we just need to decide what we're going to do now that she's gone.

It was Vriska.

It took five months of conversations, arguments, and other encounters before we became matesprits, though. She was changing... and in the end, this heartbreak isn't her fault. She just disappeared, thanks to the capricious nature of this multiversal nexus.

Breakup as caused by the dropping of your opposite number is a novel concept. Perhaps worth trying one day, as my experience with that sort of maneuver generally involved a different quadrant altogether.

I imagine it's certainly less awkward when she isn't still present. Especially given who I suspect your "again" points to.

Your suspicions are likely correct. I am taking some solace in the fact that it's not her fault this time. Also, no fairy dresses were involved.

Questions of fault are always nebulous when she is the topic. She had her share, but we shouldn't pretend our hands were clean, either. As you said, "decisions that hurt us both" are not atypical in our dealings.
