I know from watching Sophie how hard it is when you can't remember something about yourself. I guess this isn't that bad, in comparison, but I don't want to give up anything.

Yeah, I know that, but...WHY? Why do we have to give things up when we worked so hard to get so much back? It isn't right!

[ he sighs, frustrated. It's not like he's angry at HER, he just hates that he can't change this stuff. ]

I guess...I don't know. I'll put up with it. I don't want to leave you there all alone.

I hope you come. There's a garden here where we can plant sopherias together.

Well...like I said, I don't want to leave you somewhere all alone, Sophie. Even if I have to give something up, it's...okay, if it means I can still protect you.

Not yet, but my mun promised I can get the seeds. The garden is for everyone, so I'm allowed to plant flowers there.

My mun posted his application last night, I guess, so...maybe it won't be a long wait.

You're kind of a ninja already, aren't you? I mean, not technically, but...

[ he has no idea how to make that sound like it makes sense. It makes sense in his mind, though. Sophie has more skill than any ninja could possibly have! ]

Yes. We're going to a village full of ninjas.

Oh, hey Richard. I AM concerned. This is a place that takes away things that are important to people. How can I be effective at taking care of everyone if I'm forgetting something vital?

Takes things away? Hmm. ( there's a well placed hand on his chin ) That does sound alarming. ( but there's a soft smile to follow up any concern in his voice -- ) Though it's hard to imagine you not protecting those you care for, regardless if you're missing something.

I'll always protect everyone. I just...want to be effective at it. Everything that's happened is important. I don't want to lose any of that.

It's just...hard, to think about forgetting. What if I forgot you, or Sophie? Or Cheria, or my brother, or the Captain, or...

What if I forget our pact, or what we've been through together?

I don't know how to face that possibility.
