mun's nanowrimo concerns

I'm actually quite proud of you, you know. A novel in a month is quite the undertaking. Don't let your worry stop you from embracing your goal. You'll be brilliant, I know it.

Mine's attempted it once or twice before, to moderate success. It's rather in the trying, more than the victory.

Just so. [ a wry smile. ] I think her worry stems from the single-minded intensity she feels, but she exists poorly in definitives. She's never known a warrior's cause; if she did, she'd recognize the symptoms.

Nor has mine. It takes a certain amount of long term conviction that many do not know.

Absolutely. Though I'd argue a month's not so long, in the end. Thirty days is nothing to concern yourself over; barely a habit formed. Silly to think I'd disappear in that time. Really that's underestimating me.

I haven't encountered a mun undeserving of encouragement and praise. The arts are only to be encouraged, in my experience.

[ a small laugh. ] Hardly. I'm self-interested, supporting the person who controls my expression. But it's true I'd like to see her succeed in this, no matter what the sacrifice. [ a smirk tugs at his mouth, unbidden. ] I think she'll find it harder than she assumes to rid herself of my voice.

Surely that's the nature of humanity, and not a judgment on myself? Otherwise I'd be the first to object.

No judgement made. Only an observation. I make no action upon it.

We observe through the lenses of our individual and cultural assumptions, typically. Judgement is inherent, whether we mean it or not. I've been trying to convince my mun I don't have any assumptions about her priorities, but she refuses to believe me.

It is the way of man. There will always be suspicion tucked under their content dispositions.

As would I. But we both know pride can often be contingent on a sense of accomplishment.
