[AU] absolute spoilers up to the current LP update
So apparently, I've been told to post here again by someone, since the LP is far enough that people would not be spoiled by the AU I come from. Well, I can't say I mind either way... But before I talk more, I guess I should cut this? Just in case.
—Get in, losers, we're going debating. And by debating, I mean talking about Junko. As you all should know by now, Junko's the adorable mastermind of this story, and you don't know that, why are you here? Maybe you're a spoiler hound? Well, don't say I didn't warn you! I did cut this entry with a warning, so you only have yourselves to blame if you get spoiled!
...Haah? The hell you mean my personality's different? Come on, the herbivore act gets old really damn fast. You try sticking to one personality for a long time and see how you like it! (If you're on here, then it should be pretty hard, right? Right?) So don't expect me to keep it up for you bastards after playing that part for what, the entirety of my high school life? That's an entirety too long! —Isn't that soooo sad? Like, come on, I got the short end of the stick and ended up being the easily bullied one. There's, like, so many sadists that like taking advantage of a herbivore, don't ya know?
More importantly, let us return to the discussion at hand. Sensei is willing to answer your questions for now, as long as it's mildly interesting. But do try to stay on topic? Class can only run for so long before the bell rings after all...
[ ooc; Some (marked) threads may have major (late-game) Dangan Ronpa 2 spoilers within! ]

At least this might convince my mun to not make another account of, well, you?
Wait, no, she's as dead set on it as ever.

...How much do you know about what happened at Hope's Peak anyway? I, like, need to know this so I know how much to hate your guts.
—That last part was a joke!
[1/2] /GLUES A MAJOR SPOILER WARNING FOR SDR2 TO THIS THREAD
This is... more than just a little strange to witness. This... is Makoto Naegi, isn't it? The same one that was mentioned as one of the survivors in that file, the same one who aided in the trials during that time, the same one who...
...no. With the way this one speaks, he could hardly be considered the same as the Makoto Naegi who did all that. This one sounds far more like... her?]
[2/2] This can only end well. ( ̄∀ ̄)
After all, there's no way that the one symbol of true hope would fall so deep into despair that he would speak of her so fondly, that he would begin to act like the one who represented despair - the mere thought of it is utterly ridiculous.
Still, this particular Naegi is clearly... different from the one he's familiar with.
And so, Komaeda simply smiles for now. It's a hollow smile, however; one that lacks the carefree air that usually accompanies it.]
Calling that girl "adorable"... Could it be that you're fond of her?
[It's a simple question, spoken in a calm tone to test the waters a little. There's a lot of other things he could ask about - the personality switching that's so reminiscent of her, for instance - but for the time being, this should suffice. Working out what sort of relationship this Naegi has with her takes priority right now, after all, if for the sake of confirming his own suspicions.]
Upupupu, but of course... (´∀`)
So the first question to actually ask a question is Komaeda-kun, I see. It has been a while.
[ A corner of his lips turn up in a faint smile, but otherwise, he continues to look and talk the part of a calm teacher. ]
The answer to your question is "yes".
[ And he'll stop right there. Since Komaeda only asked a simple "yes or no" question, there's no need to elaborate on his answer at all. Plus, it wouldn't be very fun if Komaeda, one of the sharper upperclassman, figures things out too soon. He definitely wants to have fun with this, so he'll have to be as deliberately obtuse and cagey with information as possible. ]
Any other questions?
[ Read: Bring it on, not-Naegi. ]

Hmm... Is that so...?
[It's the kind of answer he expected, admittedly. After all, why else would he say something like that about her? Still, there's something more than just a little peculiar about that response. Just how much did this Naegi differ from the one he was familiar with?]
But isn't that strange? After all, that girl is the mastermind that forced you all to participate in the school life of mutual killing. [That's only the tip of the iceberg, of course, but that point alone should suffice right now.]
Why would you think that way of someone like her?
[Naegi might have avoided elaborating just now, but that doesn't mean that Komaeda won't attempt to pry. If that lack of an explanation is any indication, it's that he's likely omitting something vital right now. And depending on what it is, Komaeda might have to change how he approaches this conversation a little. Knowing the effect she tends to have on those she comes into contact with... this could be a cause for concern.]
1/2
Ahh...well... From your point of view, it's certainly strange... Very strange, absurd, so incredibly out of place, insert more synonyms here... Normally, I should find it odd too... But, um, I do have my reasons...
[ For a moment, Naegi pauses to think about his answer to that other question. He definitely can't take it lightly, but doesn't mean he has to answer it straight away, no?]
We do think somewhat alike, but... I don't think that's enough for you to figure out why I think that way from my answers... Sorry, it's a difficult question for me to answer since I'm not...really sure where to start... [ Well, no, not really. ] But...erm...
[ Is he being infuriating enough yet? (If not, he better step it up soon!) Does this particular act remind him of someone? (He chose it for a reason!) ...The answers to those questions don't matter! (Soooorry!) And after another pause and overuse of ellipses... (Stop it already, whoever's writing this!) ]
2/2
But before I deign to give you a longer response to that question, riddle me this, Nagito Komaeda. What do you think about Junko Enoshima?
[ Time limit to answer: 30 seconds. Choose carefully or else you'll lose heart, forcefulness of speech, influential voice, or whatever you wanna call it! ]
1/2
Of course, that's not very long at all, and as soon as that brief timespan is up, his usual smile returns. "Think somewhat alike," huh... He remains quiet as the other switches gears once more. It's not terribly surprising to have that question turned around on him, but he doesn't seem bothered by that. Maybe he ought to thank Akane again the next time he meets here, if there is a next time where he still remembers this - this would be a troublesome question to answer if it hadn't been for her recent actions.
What he thinks of Junko Enoshima... The answer to that is obvious, but perhaps it'd be better to say that he thinks of her as...
.................. [Telling the truth in this particular case may not be such a good idea. And while lying might be safer, the mere thought of pretending he feels differently about her is already utterly repulsive. So perhaps it's best to tackle this from a different angle.]
Unlike you, my thoughts are different from that girl's. Still... She is someone I wanted to meet again someday.
[The reason for his wish to meet her again? Why, he's not bringing that up right now!]
2/2
To think that she would die before then... What a hopeless turn of events.
[In a way, it's befitting of someone known as Super High School Level Despair. Of course her death was ultimately a good thing, even knowing some of the things her death led to, but even so... he can't help but to feel a little disappointed at this particular twist.
Then again, knowing what he does at this point, it might just be safe to say that there's a small glimmer of hope for even that by now...]
1/2
What are you saying now? Just so you know, my thoughts are definitely different from her's. If you really do think we think about things the same way, well, you better take this more seriously, because you're on the wrong track! Honestly, boys...
[ Not that they're dissimilar, but hey, it's the truth! If he did think the exact same as her, he had no doubts that he would have had an...accident by now, so to say. Super High School Level Good Luck hey may be, but luck along wouldn't protect him from one too many murder attempts. (Though he can survive a lot more murder attempts than the average person, that's for sure. And in the worst case scenarios, he didn't have Junko's genius or Mukuro's strength to back him up.)
Sure, being a yes-man to both Junko and Mukuro was fine and dandy before, but such behavior wouldn't be welcome now. He had to take a different approach if he wanted to be free enough for the sake of a certain plan, so for a while after the end of the mutual killings at Hope's Academy, he deliberately accentuated the differences between him and Junko for a while. Which really wasn't too hard, since like he said, they're not actually super similar. (At least he didn't have to keep up the ruse here!)
More importantly (inner monologues have a way of derailing thoughts, that's for sure), about Junko's death... She definitely died, but Junko being Junko, wouldn't let something like death stop her from pushing people into despair. And of course, he'd help with that. That's what he lives for.
On that thought, Naegi sighs again and closes his eyes...and when he opens them, he's suddenly... ]
2/2 (Sorry about this tag... I had too much pun at the end... (*ノωノ) )
—Anyway! Yeah, she's totally dead as a doornail! I saw it happen with my own two eyes, you know. It ended with a squiiiiiiiiiiiish, and not the fishy kind of squish. More like the squashy kind? Ahah, I don't even know what I'm going for there! Oh well, too bad, so sad, I'm done! Just trust my ears on that one!
[ Because they're really good! ...Well, no, they're simply normal, but hey, that's not why he said that. ]
But even if you don't, you still have your ways to prove it, right? Right?
[ Naegi then lowers the volume of his voice down a tad and leans forward slightly, as if he was telling a secret, except not really. ]
You have a piece of that proof on hand after all!
...sjklakjdjsd THAT PUN OH MY GOD.
...That's when the other's shift to hyperactive chattering happens. When he mentioned that girl's death, he wasn't expecting Naegi to end up that focused on it. It's hardly relevant to what they were talking about, after all! Certainly, it's an event he sees as both lucky and unlucky for different reasons, but there isn't really need to dwell on it right...
...
...If this thread had sound effects, this would probably be the cue for a shocked dunnn. Alas!]
I-I do...?
[Despite that surprised look, Komaeda realizes what Naegi's referring to. Even if it's not visible right now, he certainly remembers what... happened prior to the school trip by now. It did factor into what he'd been planning, after all, if only to a small extent. But to think this Naegi would be aware of that, and that he would just bring it up so suddenly... that's a rather low blow, isn't it?
But of course, he doesn't have to play along with that. Not if he can avoid it somehow.]
I don't know what you're talking about, but... Even if I did, why would that matter? We're not debating that girl's death!
[There wouldn't be anything to debate about that, anyway. Her execution was broadcast, after all - and even without having seen what was left of her following that, it'd be ridiculous to claim that Junko Enoshima didn't die back then. Not even a robot would be capable of surviving all that, so a high school girl certainly wouldn't...]
