[Oh, dear. Days like this that the Painted Doll is happy to be all think and no talk.

She hands Wick a parchment sheet playbill. The little clown isn't exactly at the bottom, but neither is she first up. Shrug. Yes, of course. Let's add some more acts.]

[There's a slight hiss] ...How'd I get below Hobo Clown?

[Two and two come together and] More audience less acts. I gotta get a chance to do something.

[Slowly, as it becomes more apparent, Doll nods and nods, then bows her shoulders, yielding to Wick's...superiour deducing skills.

Yes. Doll points her finger. That. More. More to play with, more to entertain, and more to use in Lord Lucifer's new scheme.]

The boss is actually here Doll. Here's hopin' we can do something now. My writer's not doing jack shit.

[She jerks a thumb over her shoulder] Bring more people over to our side to see.

[Yes, dearie, we know. Who do you think went to him, immediately, upon his arrival?

And, of course, we're all trying. Doll fluffs Wick's little curls. You wouldn't suggest otherwise, would you, little one?]

[Her eyes are wide and she doesn't flinch but she wants to. Doll is...well. Doll and mixed in with her rueful admiration of her is a very strong desire to usurp her place..and terror.

Boundless terror as well.] You goin' to one of these games?

[That elicits a satisfied smile. Good girl, no flinching. That might have cost her two bites.

Her head shakes no. No, some of us aren't suited for that sort of play with others. Some of us would prefer our writers did not indulge "histories" that others need not hear nor believe to be true.]

[Wick sits, dangling her feet and batting her eyelashes.] It doesn't seem like we fit anywhere sometimes does it? Except back home.

[Nods. Home is where Dolly's ice-cold, broken heart is, anyway. In a way, perhaps that's why she likes Lucifer's new game.

No real freedom to do what we want to do, no real friends and sure there's what some people might think are bad things but life's fulla bad things...

[No friends? Doll preens, even going so far as to fluff her skirt. Surely the little one must be talking about herself. Dolly has made and found plenty of friends. ...Well. Playthings.

[Wick has never been a solo act. She can't cut it and she knows it she works best with allies, with her girls. The clown tucks her knees under her chin and looks vaguely disappointed.]
