Weren't you supposed to be in bed an hour ago? I realize watching that fake trailer on YouTube made you all giddy but you have work in the morning, Kid. Get with the program.

Also? Those sneak-peaks at the reboot of my movie? Ugh. Now there something we agree on. My story is about a struggle to regain humanity - discovering what really makes us human. It isn't about corporations and such - at least not mainly.

I am a person, not a product.

Side-note - I see I now have one of those tag things you talked about before. Cool.

My mun's saying the idea of rebooting this flick is a crime. What is up with all the reboots I keep hearing about? I'm no film buff, but it's sounding like there's a serious lack of ingenuity in the industry these days.

My mun is of the same mindset. She says, quote, "When the director doesn't understand what the main theme of the movie is you know you're in trouble. Apparently, Robocop is about corporations and corporate greed. Never mind that whole side story about a man who loses everything and has to rediscover himself and reclaim his humanity - delving into the very things that make us human."

Granted, she loves the dark humor and the over-the-top violence so she's not all about the deep, insightful views.

[He chuckles, shaking his head, before continuing.]

You got me, pal. I'm inclined to think the same as you. The industry has gotten lazy. I mean, no plot, anymore, is original but they could at least put some of their own ideas into something instead of just borrowing the thinking of others.

Yeah. Like you said, the same basic stories have already been told and retold, but it's how they're packaged that makes all the difference. [He shrugs goodnaturedly after a moment, cracking a small grin.] And then there're just some movies that shouldn't be messed with.

So I guess she is going to check this thing out anyway?

She might. Depends. The release date keeps being pushed back so that doesn't bode well.

[Scratches his head]

According to her, though, I'm the only real Robocop. Not sure if that's a compliment or not.

Heh. Can't help you there.

[He's never heard of this flick, alas. But if it had existed in his world, it would be just over forty years old.]

But it sounds like you might be somebody's idol.

[The comment is followed by a bittersweet smile. Murphy knows what happens to him - he knows he loses everything and everyone he loves. Clarence Boddicker. Dick Jones. OCP. They were all to blame.

Oddly enough, Murphy doesn't blame, as much, Bob Morton. The guy was a sleaze but, in a twisted way, he had meant well.]

I've been hearing that this place is something like a nexus between worlds... so I'm keeping my eyes open for someone.
