Oi, it's alright! Sometimes, you just have to have one foot forward and you will meet people.

My mun and I were a bit nervous ourselves. ...We are less of refugees and just new to things in general!

I know that. I just have trouble talking to new people most of the time.

Mun just feels bad about not knowing if most people she knows are going to end up here.

[The boy has a bright grin.]

[He extends a hand out, his ahoge flipping back as he chimes.]

Introductions are in order. I'm Reize Seatlan! Pleased to meet you!

My mun has been nervous as well, as this whole journal atmosphere is out of his element. He's used to other mediums.

[She offers an uncertain and shy smile.]

I'm Hazel Hawthorn.

[She hesitantly extends her own hand. It's half covered by her sleeve but, she doesn't bother to pull it up any.]

Mine's only ever used journals and an instant message thing a couple time.

[He brightens considerably, his ahoge flips up.]

[He scratches the back of his head with his other hand after releasing her hand.]

My mun has done something called MUSHs, he mostly used journals for jotting down character information since he never made a page for me yet.

[She fidgets nervously.]

Is it much different? Mun doesn't really know what a MUSH is exactly.

[He looks at her fidgeting.]

W-w-well, mun says it's like an interactive chat thing.

[He looks confused for a moment.]

Whatever that is.

[She tries to stop fidgeting.]

Oh. I never tried one of those. Was always too nervous.

[For a moment, he looks sad.]

...Yeah. Just like many of the refugees leaving the place, mun had let the place that he had me journeying through for... reasons. So, he recently heard about people migrating here due to things at the LJ and decided to travel out this way.

[The boy shakes his head.]

Right now, the mun has no idea where to put me at that seems adventurous.

[She's not going to pry into those 'reasons'. She's not entirely sure she wants to know.]

Mines just waiting a bit before she decides what exactly she's doing with me. It just seemed hasty to make me a journal here when she's not sure.

I think it seems the same way. My mun has been trying to find a few spots. ...Maybe journeying to a castle could be a good start.

[Reize makes a face.]

He keeps mentioning about JRPG protagonist and JRPG love interest.

...I don't get it or my mun.

[He gives an exasperated sigh.]

Why a castle? [she thinks they're overrated. Drafty and stuff. She doesn't like getting chills.]

JRPG protagonist... [Head-tilt. She doesn't know what the J stands for but, she plays some RPG video games. She's not really sure what to make of it in this case though.]

Muns are strange. Trying to understand them can sometimes give me a headache.

Castles generally have a great deal of history behind them, as do ruins! It just makes me curious to see what the 'nobles' do! I come from a small village, so I do not know too much outside of that.

[Reize has a wide grin.]

Agreed! Muns are strange!

They do but, I don't think they generally let the public just wander around in them if they're still being used. It probably depends on what kind of world you're from though.

Ruins sound interesting to explore though. As long as they're not crawling with monsters anyway.

The monsters crawling around is the fun part about the adventure!

[He lifts a fist to the sky.]

Battling monsters, braving the tough caverns and dungeons... That is the adventurer's life!

I'm not really an adventurer. I just study... stuff. [Stuff being magic mostly. She doesn't really talk about that. Though she almost did just now.]

Oh, you're a student of the sort? That's great! I--

[It is interrupted as the green crystal along the pendant starts glowing. As it resonates a bit of energy, for a moment.]

Errr...

[She takes a nervous step back, her eyes glued to the pendant.]

Uh, what's that mean?

[She's still a novice so, she can't really tell just by looking.]

[He looks at the glowing pendant.]

The pendant lets me see magic around me. Through it, I can also channel magic. ...It's power is weak though, so I can only draw upon a fireball spell.

[He smiles.]

It was a gift from my father, but I was recently told from one of the creatures that challenged me for it that it's a fragment of a shooting star. ...And I'm supposed to protect it.

Oh. [She starts fidgeting again and avoids the subject of why it would have started glowing just then.]

Sounds like something that's really valuable.

...Yeah.

My father gave it to me for my bravery. When I was eight, I fought against a monster that came to our village and went after the other kids! ...

But... I almost got killed trying to distract it from getting the other kids.

[Even though she has risked herself for someone else once or twice in a game she doesn't consider herself brave.]

A lot of people would just call that crazy. I can't really agree with them.

Hee! They would but... there was not much of a choice.

I was not going to let those monster hurt my little brothers. As the big brother of the village, it was my duty to protect them. The adults were handling the other monsters from getting into the village.

I don't think most people ever have to make that kind of choice so, they can't really understand it.

Or they've just never asked themselves if there's something important enough to them to take a risk like that.

[He lowers his head, resting a hand to his arm.]

I see what you mean. ....That is why I try to step up so that they don't have to.

[He gives a determined smile.]

[Head-tilt.]

Knight's vow? Are you a knight?

[She's not sure. He seems a little young for that.]

[He shakes his head.]

No! Not quite.

[A smile grows.]

No. I plan to surpass him as an explorer.

[She shuffles her feet. She kinda doesn't feel much like talking anymore.]

I know the feeling. It's hard not knowing anybody and putting yourself out there. Thankfully my mun and I are on good terms and she's brought in a bunch of other people that I know as well, so worse comes to worse, I can always talk with them. It's more work on her but I really appreciate it!

[She smiles and extends her hand for a handshake.]

You're lucky. The only other people my mun has brought are not people I'd want to talk to.

[She doesn't much feel like smiling but, she'll extend her hand as well.]

[Caroline nods as they shake hands, her smile turning to a bit of a frown as she begins puzzling things out. Once a problem-solving/mediating girl, always a problem-solving/mediating girl.]

Have you tried asking your mun for nicer people to bring over? I'm sure if you explain your situation clearly then they should be able to be persuaded. My mun wanted me to be comfortable here and [she pauses, looking slightly bemused] I don't know if she would have been able to stop my best friend from coming here. The girl's kind of bullheaded, to put it nicely.

Is there anyone in particular that you would want brought over the most? It's good to have clear options in mind when discussing things with your mun... or with anyone really, I suppose.

Mun doesn't have nicer people. She doesn't hear my family well enough to bring them anywhere and doesn't really pick up others very well either.

So just talking with my mun doesn't really help.

I'd have to disagree. Talking with your mun always helps! You just need to know what to ask, I guess.

[She goes back to puzzling. Think, think, think...]

Oh! Perhaps your mun could introduce you to other people you might get along with! Whether here or in the headspace (or whatever you call it - that place where all sorts of people end up hanging out with their mun). I've met all sorts of interesting people that way.

[She doesn't mention the couple of people she never wants to meet again. Thankfully they don't get pulled out very often...]

I dunno. Mun likes making me talk to creepy people half the time and... meeting new people makes me want to crawl under a rock more often than not.

[It's a wonder she isn't a hermit, really.]

What is it with muns and having creepy people to talk to?

[She looks a bit surprised at the outburst of hers, but carries on regardless, albeit more calmly.]

I mean, it's not like it's any fun for us or anything. I recently met this one guy and [she shudders] I'd really rather I never meet him again.

A lot of them find the creepy ones interesting I guess. I doubt it's much fun for them to always interact with others of the same type.

Mine just seems to like making me uncomfortable. [Of course she doesn't have to be talking to a creeper for that. She's quite uncomfortable talking to apparently nice people most of the time too. Like now. She's fidgeting nervously.]
