Y'know, it'd be nice to have some consistency. Not just when you feel like it.

—In case you're feeling up to listening to requests, which I doubt, but I figure I'll take my chances while you're still around and tuning in.

An agent of SHIELD sitting around doing nothing never ends well. I'm not sure if the alternative is better or not, but you're absent in the place I'm trapped in, and you know how well I make friends when I'm left to it.

[ Which, maybe, is Clint's less than subtle way of asking if she's doing okay. It's not a strike team with just one person, and these places are never that pleasant to be alone in. ]

[ She looks as if to be rolling her eyes without actually putting in the effort of doing it, seeing right through the fascade. ]

Keep dreaming, Barton. If you're looking for a damsel to swoop in and rescue, it's not gonna be me. [ Which is enough to state that she's getting by, even if there is a part of her that wouldn't mind him there to watch her back. ] It's been like the vacation I never got to have not having to track you down and save your ass for a change.

[ He grins. Geez, Nat, he missed you too. ]

So what's is it like, then? Where you are?

[ She's flattered, really, she is. ]

It's not exactly New York, but it's got its charms. It's got fun mist that holds curses and creatures, which I intend to continue evading wherever possible, the fashion could be better, and the coffee isn't the best. It's never dull.

[ Dryly: ] Sounds like a blast.

[ A beat, considering. ] We talking dull-dull or dull like Puerto Rico, dull?

[ There's a glint in her eye, mouth curling up at a corner. ]

Puerto Rico. Those were the days.

Gotta be better than uh— monsters and fog, huh.

Can't really fight fog. It's disappointing.
