The creatures who inhabit this world are filthy, disgusting creatures, obsessed only with material things. The Elders would have them destroyed. Lord Galcian would have them educated.

I asked what you're fighting for, not them. Are you following them blindly? Look around!

My options were assist the Elders in destroying the world, or assist Lord Galcian in changing it. If you feel the need to question my reasoning, you are a fool.
