Tarn: the only person who likes to hear the sound of his own voice
My dear, small, precious human companion, I really thought you knew better than this.
If I didn't know better, I'd say your motivations are based on fear. Oh don't look so startled. It makes sense you know, that today of all the innumerable other days you and I could be venturing down this little path together, you choose the one where the consequences could very well be the most dire. Why, I think you're cracking under the pressure.
And we really can't have that.
We've barely even gotten to know each other yet -- something I do so look forward to. The earphones are cute by the way; they bring out the quaint fragility of your tiny skull. And I couldn't help but notice that you seem to like music. This is a wonderful coincidence, because you see, so do I. In fact, if I might be so bold, I would even go so far as to say I'm an expert on the subject.
We should indulge together sometime.
Perhaps I'll sing you a song.
I know just the one, too.
[and a three, four, five, six, seven, eight, oh god I really shouldn't be doing this.]

oh wow this is a terrible idea.
I'd wager not as bad as mine
How good of you to visit. We've been looking for you.
a gentleman's draw?
And the war's over. None of that matters anymore.
Might be a bit too optimistic, but I'll hope for the best
I should not be squeeing just to see a Tarn RPer, then?
Whatever business you think you have here, that's over.
Most assuredly not! (Trust me on this) :(
And if I said I was here for the pleasure?
no subject
I question your definition of 'pleasure'. Seems we're bound to have semantic arguments after all.
no subject
Well then. I'll have make sure to explain myself thoroughly. At length.
no subject
Tarn. [He shakes his head.] Even when the war wasn't over, how did you possibly think you were helping the cause?
Fffffff--- 3 days later and Tarn was STILL TL;DRing on the topic
Let's add that to the list of things we'll need to discuss, Deadlock, the next time we meet. But for the sake of brevity in the here and now; The DJD help remind those who, in their spark, may not have been as loyal to the cause as they should, to stay the course.
Tarn why are you so awesome ;-;
And how loyal do you want a mech to be, beyond willing to defile himself for the hope of a better future, to descend into butchery for a vision that just recedes farther and farther from his grasp?
He believes in his convictions! (And mancrush) while you, Drift, are too wishywashy and try too hard
[With the patience of a saint:]
One only needs be as loyal as to not frustrate our Lord's plans.
...
Or loyal enough to avoid the very unpleasant consequences of not following along. I don't think I'll need to elaborate, will I? I expect you're familiar with our work.
welp. you djd types really do your homework.
Our 'Lord'. You speak of him as though he's a god.
I'm familiar with your work. [He's trying pretty hard not to think about it.]
A cause should be followed out of faith, not fear.
To be fair, no one can really compare to Tarn's effortless class and swag. A+ for effort though!
We prefer faith in fear. Those that stray, well, they can rest assured -- no, they can have faith in the fact that we will find them. And we will make an example.
They're free to believe in whatever they'd like (provided it's the Cause) but it of course, doesn't exempt them from the reality of their situation. Us.
no subject
And who has given you that fiat to decide? Tarn, if your methods worked, you'd be out of a job: you'd have terrified enough mechs that none would ever stray.
Just pretend he emotes behind the mask. I like to believe he's having a right good laugh rn
Megatron has never complained. (And that should be good enough for anyone.) Besides, no one's perfect though we do try, and we'll get to those that survive in our own time. You see, There's a list, Deadlock. There are priorities. Not everyone deserves our attention immediately.
But don't worry, you'll get your chance soon enough.
we'll just nickname him 'chuckles'.
[Turns out Deadlock isn't that far from the surface, Tarn. ] You. Overlord. He simply has better things to do, speaking of priorities.
[A dangerous smile.] I look forward to it.
no subject
Hmm, yes, Overlord. That reminds me, I've someplace to be.
Well, it's been fun, Deadlock, but I'll be seeing you soon.
no subject
You're a bit late for Overlord, Tarn. But scurry off. It must be frightening being here alone without your backup.
Come here into Uncle Chuckles's arms, you cutie, you! He just wants to pinch those little cheeks!
[He doesn't like making his quarry wait longer then necessary though; it just seems unprofessional.]
Hah. And what makes you say that? His little detour to Garrus-9?
[He's not even going to deign that last part an answer. But! You'll be pleased to note: no scurrying to be had here. Just someone humming a chill little ditty. Totally relaxed.]

That might be more your realm of expertise, Doctor.
no subject
[Tarn is a scary guy, but he manages to not sound as spooked as he feels.]
I'd say it's a safe guess that she--or he--is fond of you. At least.
no subject
You know, you might be on to something there. Maybe I've inadvertently tamed the tiny thing with my displays of excellent taste.
no subject
Ah, in either event. I'm sure you're accustomed to your reputation preceding you.
no subject
I am, yes. I still find myself pleasantly surprised that they've heard of us all the way from their far off planet though. That says good things about the work we do. It's heartening.
Say, do you think they can be trained? The humans, that is. While their lifespan and propensity to end up crushed more than suggests they aren't worth the effort, I choose to believe even the most simple minds can be conditioned.
no subject
It's possible to gain a temporary mental advantage through brainwashing and terror, but... as the Senate found out, individuals become groups that don't take well to that kind of domination.
no subject
I don't believe you're familiar enough with our work if you're going to compare us, or our methods to the Senate. For one thing, our touch is much more... personal. But you're an Autobot, so I'll forgive you your naivety -- however insulting -- just this once.
And you seem to have misheard me; I said 'conditioning.' Besides, I very much doubt I'd need an entire group, maybe just a pair -- and a couple more in case those two expire too quickly. Hmm, yes; the team does seem to take well to pets.
no subject
I think it's disingenuous to act like fear and intimidation are different just because they're cloaked in a different symbol - Tarn. Deep down, exerting power over other mechs has the same root pathology; fear of an unpredictable environment.
Please be reasonable about this.
no subject
... I can't believe this. Are you trying to...? Oh, this is rich! [And when he chuckles, it's a dark, rolling sound, honestly amused.
Probably.]Would you like to talk? Sit down! Grab a seat, Doctor. Let's chat.
Now, why don't you go right on ahead and tell me exactly how unreasonable I'm being.
no subject
I think--... [quiet, but steady] I think that you're very unhappy. And I - I think that for a number of reasons.
And I think that if you wanted to change, you could.
Help
Keep going.
LMAO bb do you want more icons of his emotionless face i could make you a couple
...have concerns about loyalty. And you're an addict.
From those colors I cannot paint a happy mech. Even disregarding what you do for a living and to who.
As if I'll ever need another icon after that baby (Thanks though! But Im not sure he's a keeper yet)
Hmm. Well you're certainly right about a few things, I'll give you that.
Was there anything else?
no subject
They must not know you very well.
....Which means they probably can't play you. Which is good. I like being alive.
And then Tarn found the internet, and it was horrible
The orange Autobot up there -- the one that thinks himself a head-doctor -- well, he even thinks they can be trained. Oh sure, he didn't say it outright, but he made himself clear enough. And do you know what this means for you, Misfire?
I'll let you think about it. Go ahead, take your time.
By the way, it is good to see you're still alive. And in case you missed it the first time; I'm happy to let you know that you've been added to the list. Congratulations.
He probably got stuck on Youtube.
Maybe Krok.
Look, I don't know what all this stuff means because I wasn't paying attention- BUT, I'm sure its super bad. Like, Flywheels getting run through a thresher bad.
...But I'm at the bottom of the list right? Or at least really low? [Hopeful]
He liked this one: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DMGlQvPBQE0
... Well, maybe not, but I'm sure it'll be part of the lead up at any rate.
The good news? Yes, you're plenty low. The bad news; still above Grimlock. But to be fair, that's not really saying much.
You know, I think my spark just diminished from hearing that
[Oh, ow. Words really can hurt! Way more than sticks and stones. Who knew?]
Oh. So. If Grimlock were to wake up right now and do something annoying, you might raise his spot? Is that how it works?
Just part of the job.
[You have no idea.]
I very much doubt Grimlock could do anything to salvage his reputation.
no subject
Actually, I meant make it worse. So you could move him up a few names.
no subject
Need I remind you, your last scheme didn't really work out. Entertaining, yes... but ultimately useless.
