We keep having this problem. It's really got to stop. You can't just "volunteer" me as a mentor figure because I served as that for several back home. Do I need to remind you of how that turned out? You never like that part very much.
The last time you thought about "playing" me for any real length of time, you took over a month to do your "canon review" because you couldn't be motivated. That makes me feel very special, that you want to do things with me but you're not motivated enough to go through the entire series.
At least you do your homework, I can say that much. Why don't you purchase the books that you are missing and we can speak at a later date? Perhaps a month from now, if you can find the motivation.
For me.

For me.

And, also, Remus doesn't have the opportunity to shower as often as most people; the greasy look is totally one he's sported himself before a time or two.
...or over a few years. Maybe.]
Life in general, I would hope.
no subject
And you are an expert of life in general, why?
no subject
You don't have to be an expert to mentor. The mantle sort of fell on me, actually; it's not something I sought, it's something that happened and happened rather well, I believe. I'm proud of my students, at least.
no subject
Are these actual students? Or is this a figurative use of the term?
no subject
I was only there for a year, however.

Oh, mine does that as well. I simply try my hardest for her to not do that with me.
no subject
So what's your secret?
no subject
Seniority, I think. I've been around since...for over a decade now. As I am, not with her or however you'd term it.
no subject
The older you are, the less they'll screw with you? That's what you're saying?
no subject
The longer you've been around, I believe.
[Wait, what?]
I'm not as old as I look.

Well, so is Neville, but Remus is a bit biased. Don't ask, he won't tell.]
I'm in maybe half of it, Harry. Theoretically, she could get away with skipping large chunks; I just dislike poorly done homework.
[Pointed look at you, sir.]

[The end for Remus, at least. The story continues, and Harry? De te fabula—it's all about you, buddy.]
And no, no I would not. Even before I took on professor duties, one of the few things I couldn't deal with was shoddily done research.

Maybe if she finds a game she really is interested in, it'll help motivate her. It works on mine.
no subject
But what's new with that and Lupin, right?]
It's easy, in some ways. Not so easy in others. [Like remembering being not quite a ghost and listening to Harry talk about his son, and having to be his mentor self instead of falling apart and asking forgiveness for saddling him with the responsibilities of a godfather while a war was going on. That's not so easy.] And games? I haven't been in one for so long now, it seems to be one of the most unlikely things to happen.
How about you?

Rather surprising considering she has two bookshelves crammed nearly to the point of bending the shelves.
[It is terrible madness!]

Have a Harry who was raised as Dick Grayson.
It's entirely your fault, y'know. If you weren't so good at being a mentor figure they wouldn't volunteer you for it.
[He says this with a grin. Also an American accent.]

They will absolutely cross oceans to avoid work, you know.
Mine claims that because my universe differs after the sixth book, she doesn't have to reread the seventh—completely ignoring the fact that she's missing out on some vital characterisation in favour of doing the bare minimum. Naturally.
