Birthdays are funny things, aren't they? It is unfortunate you missed the holiday by one day. It'll be 2017 by the time the next time they align. I do hope you survive long enough to reach it.

You do enjoy October, don't you? I know you're excited for Halloween as well. As am I. We'll put on quite a show for you. A very tidy anniversary for a year well spent.

Regardless, you mean Columbus Day. Which would be true if my mundane were American. But Canadians celebrate Thanksgiving in the wrong month.

The Canadian tradition of Thanksgiving is slightly different from our own, though it does have a sordid history.

But I'm afraid you are forgetting Independence Day. As well as Patriot Day, Flag Day, Memorial Day, President's Day, and the numerous other holidays particular to this country.

I don't know what Patriot Day is, but, uh...every country has a flag, right? So shouldn't all of them have a Flag Day? And isn't Memorial Day because a bunch of American soldiers died? They don't have that for other countries that have had wars?

Sounds like they're missing out.

They have Remembrance Day, though that is not particular to them and held on the same day as Veteran's Day. It began with the First World War. Memorial Day's origins are rooted in the Civil War.

And no, they do not have a Flag Day. They do however, have Canada Day and Victoria Day, as well as Boxing Day - if we are discuss holidays we do not have.
