Even if its removal is far and away from a permanent arrangement, you will be disappointed in knowing that I have no intention of either mourning or celebrating the loss of my bloodbending.

Hard as it is to believe some of us manage just fine without it.

And some of us put a lot of work into our bending and don't want to see that all lost - and would also be nearly defenseless without it as we worked on our bending instead of a different fighting technique.

It's about being able to defend myself. Specifically, about not needing to rely on anyone to defend me. I have trouble relying on other people, for some reason.

The sad irony is you're the one I regret hurting the most, but we're less deserving of what was given to us.

...Short of the bloodbending, I don't think my actions as Councilman were incorrect. I needed to be Republic City's savior more than any of them did. It was all I had.

We deserved better than we got. Both of us.

For all my lies none of them were for myself. "Short of the bloodbending"? If that proved anything it was that you were on a razors edge well before that came into play.

You have no idea about all the sacrifices I've made. I don't think it was wrong of me to want to have my name attached to something positive for the city.

But now all we will ever be remembered as is "Yakone's sons", so I guess none of it mattered.
