I really cannot blame you for crying, Ms. Mundane. But I'm beginning to think you should have expected this. Or we should have. It seems it's my lot to be unhappy. I had been so sure of where my life was headed, and now I've been cast adrift.

I'm being terribly maudlin. I know you'll excuse me, but I would like to rally. After all, I have my new role as spinster aunt to accept now.
