Yeah, this is great. I really wanted to go from New Marais to this place while Cole is trying to do everything in his power to get stronger. I really want to be completely clueless about how this whole Conduit thing works.

Oh and I really want to be able to go someplace where the odds of my freezing someone to death, literally, is a high possibility.

What is a conduit?

There's a mutation in certain humans, we call it the Conduit Gene, that allow them to utilize superhuman abilities. It's typically dormant but can be unlocked through the use of Ray Field Energy or through the use of a Ray Sphere.

So those of us that go through the process, whether it's the quick and relatively painless method of using a Ray Sphere or experimentation via Ray Field Energy, are called Conduits.

Interesting. Artificial mutants. How very peculiar. That a gene like that would lay dormant. I take it that the powers exhibited by each individual is unique to that person? Or are the powers uniform to all 'Conduits.'

No, there are different types. I'm an ice Conduit, Nix is a fire and Cole is an electric Conduit.

I see. However, I have reservations about the amount of power Conduits hold in comparison to their natural counterparts. Forcing evolution has never had positive results.

I've observed quite a few and a lot of them have incredible potential. Cole is probably one of the most powerful Conduits I'll ever see.

I am willing to wager that there is a large difference between these Conduits of yours and Mutants like myself. A few outliers does not make for an accurate descriptor of the average.

You're right, it doesn't. Unfortunately, I don't know much about the kind of mutation that you know of so I can't make an accurate judgement.

I've had close to eighty years of practice to truly master my powers. It is a life-long endeavor. One that started in Auschwitz. When bloodthirsty hate-mongering men pride themselves on their skewed ideal of perfection, someone like myself is forced to quickly develop their powers while in their captivity.

Circumstances like that... And with that kind of power, it's no wonder you would or could develop it to such a point.

My kind has suffered discrimination at every turn since it became common knowledge that our numbers were growing. There have even been attempts to make us register and wear marks that denote us as mutants.

Extremists have even constructed machines designed to identify, hunt, and eliminate us. I have been a rather... vocal proponent against such measures.

I think I can understand, a bit. We're called freaks and demons, the spawn of satan and some people try to kill us.

I can't imagine why anyone would think it's okay to try to register mutants though, or mark them. It's barbaric. I'm someone is speaking again it though!
