As unpleasant as this place sounds, you know I have no objections; on the contrary, I'm certain Bon needs me there more than ever at this point.

Besides, what other chance will I have to watch humanity up close? From what I've heard, I doubt I'll be the most unusual creature on this strange little island, so I'll be able to learn a great deal that I would never be capable of back home. There are quite a few benefits, aren't there?

And really, Bon's hair must be an absolute mess by now.

Hmm. Ginshu.

[ That's a difficult topic to address. He mulls it over for a moment, wings rubbing together thoughtfully. ]

I know that Ginshu is a priestess, and is not supposed to be interacting with demons. He is, technically, "an enemy"... Though perhaps you do not see it the same way?

[ He doesn't really know a lot about the Ginshu of the past; Bon has never been one for sharing his feelings, after all. ]

[hiwa]

Of course he's an enemy! [His reply is maaaybe a little too quick on his tongue. He can't let it get out that he doesn't hate the dummy. That would put him in for a world of hurt.] Everyone who kills ayakashi is an enemy!

I see. You are right, of course.

[ So they were friends. That certainly explains why Bon always looks so sad when he looks at Ginshu... and why, even with their venomous exchanges, they both behave as if their hearts are bleeding.

He still doesn't know how to feel about Ginshu, but somehow his heart goes out to them both right now. ]

Tell me, have you a name that I may address you by?

[hiwa]

[Put your nose in your own business, stickybeak. Bonten's heartbreak is nobody's burden but his own, and that's how he plans on keeping it.

Hiwa sniffs derisively.]

[ Oh, Bon. When will you learn that you don't have to do it all alone? Utsubushi simply shakes his head, utterly unsurprised. ]

I suppose "young sir" it is, then. It remains a pleasure to meet you, all the same.

[hiwa]

If you've gotta call me something, call me Byakuroku. [Try talking down to that name!]

[ That gives him pause. If Bonten is this young... Byakuroku is still alive, isn't he? Oh well. Spreading his wings, he offers a bow as best he can while crouched down. ]

Tell me more about the Princess. [Imperious, as always.]

[ He sighs, crossing his legs and resting his beak on one hand. He doesn't want to give too much information from the future, after all; he doubts that Hiwa would believe him, anyway. ]

The Princess... I believe you know as much of him as I do.

[ Another sigh. How to address this. ]

I'm not quite sure how to feel about him, myself.

[hiwa]

How do you know what I know? [Suspicion.]

And I don't really care about your feelings, I wanted to know what you knew.

[ Another hesitation while he taps one talon against the side of his beak, regarding Hiwa thoughtfully. ]

...Most of what I know of Ginshu is what I have seen firsthand, which isn't a great deal. Bonten knows far more than I do, but refuses to speak of the priestess. I know that he is one of the four Holy Ones, and that he is an enemy of all demonkind... as we have been told.

[ Another pause. ]
