Naw, shucks, you're too kind. I'll give it mah best shot, as long as you believe in me I'll be the best Ranger I've ever been. I just hope I don't have to go it alone. I really work better as a team.

[He tried a friendly smile and wave, albeit while he was backing away slowly. Playing cute and cuddly animal usually rescued him from being a snack. That, or running.]

WOW, do ya think so? [The robot's appearance intrigued him, and managed to instill him with a considerable amount of courage.] Yeah! I sure would love to be up there with all my friends doin' hero stuff like they do. I'd do anything for the team, but if I don't prove myself no one will take me seriously. What would Chip do? [The last sentence he had drawn more inward to himself than anything, but the fact remained that he was trying to fill his brother's shoes. Everyone looked up to Chip as a hero and a leader.]

Proving oneself aye, is a task I can related to. My advice, try not to tackle situations you are unfit for, otherwise your peers will not think too highly of you. Instead find where your niche is in the group and work up. Pick on the weaknesses of the fellow heroes and see what your strong points can contribute to them.

[Dale fished through his pockets to find something; it was the Rangerly thing to do. He responded with a peanut kernel, his very favorite snack, and held it up to the hungry mage, looking a little hesitant, but intent.]

[Certainly the kernel was a snack for even the chipmunk but it was the thought that counted.]

[She stares flatly at Dale. With her appetite, a peanut kernel isn't even going to begin to sate her hunger.]

[He emptied his pockets. The only things that spilled out were the peanut and the bola he kept as a weapon. He looked up at her sadly and shook his head, but he did sink to his fours and started sniffing around, at least attempting to find something edible. Where he was going to dig up a dish of meat and potatoes was anyone's guess.]

Cmon mun, throw me a bone!

[Dale bumps into a turkey leg.]

One of those theme park turkey legs? Hey, look what I found!

[Seeing the turkey leg, she's practically salivating.]

Dale was all ears, engrossed in the centaur's advice. It was like hearing his mentor speak, the retired police dog at the station. "Got it! Find my niche, contribute my strong points. Well, I'll try..." He shuffled around a bit. Recent events in Paradise had left him wounded physically, but he was still geared for a resistance mission he was going to be a part of. While he did want to participate he couldn't help but be afraid; it was going to be a warzone and he was still working on steeling his nerves. "Do you ever get scared?" Right now, Dale was looking a lot less confident than he had before.

[The chipmunk nudged the leg her direction.]

It's alllll yours!

[Phew. He was worried he was going to start looking like a big turkey leg for a while there! Dale's shoulders relaxed in unconscious response to his stroke of luck.]

Ah little creature, the emotion of feeling scared is a natural reaction, even for a big centaur like myself. Plenty of times I have felt the pang of fear. In battle and off.

Dale was curious about the mage lady, so he crept a little closer on his fours wearily, wondering if she minded the company. He sat down and looked up at her every now and again. If she made eye contact with him he would wag his tail in happy greeting.

[Behind pretending to have expected this, he was admittedly flattered that he had an admirer.]

...Er, I think so. Yeah, out of us Rescue Rangers. Chip and Gadget always got along well, and I couldn't come between 'em. I'm happy to hear my brother is her favorite too.
