I don't have time for dancing

Regarding this weekend: I know that formal functions often have a dancing component. This won't be the first one I attend, though it'll be the first time I'll have a main role. Everyone will notice if I don't do well.

So I need to take lessons again, right? I need to ask someone about that. Where's Zack when you need him? We only have a few days left, and I really don't want to crash into a table. I haven't been clumsy enough to break things in a while, but do you know about Murphy's law?

...hang on, I'm revising the plan . Maybe I should look into installing bumpers around the important displays. I can try to improve my dancing, but guest intoxication's a variable I can't control.

I don't think you'll need bumpers. Dancing is easy, even if you don't actually know how. Just sway in time with the music.

There are different types of modern dancing. I'm the expert on precisely none of them.

I know about hunting and survival. I know about nature. I know how to tan leather and butcher meat and roast over a fire. And I know how we used to dance during the festivals, but... that's about it.

Yeah. I can hardly believe it myself. But after that last encounter with the robots and the rebuilding we did, we wanted to cheer people up.

That's definitely saying the least. What could've happened?

All of the warriors were. When it wasn't a time of war, we were the guardians and the hunters, especially for the festivals - we held them at the height of summer, the depth of winter, and the balance of spring and fall.

...If that's what you call them, then I guess. But we didn't fight very much. There were some times when other nations would assault our borders, but it was rare. The real war came when the Orgs rose.

I'd say to just try to relax and let things go as they will, but I know that's probably impossible to do at this point.
