on being canon updated to 4x01 for adstringendum.
Well, I'm certainly glad you've gotten over your little bout of fear in playing me. Every single person in the world gets stage fright at some point, mundane, but no matter what the consequences, the show must go on. Enduring the difficulties is what will make you shine above every other star in the sky and I am no different. To infinity and beyond, as our childhood heroes would say, though I doubt very much Barbra lived by Toy Story.

It does concern me that I am missing an out and out brawl in Adstringendum, but I imagine everyone will pull through as they always do. That place doesn't change -- and I trust my friends will be smart and safe. I can only hope I can bring a sliver of good news to that city when I return.
I should work on my performance piece.

Tell me! I'm horrendous at being kept in the dark.

Really? You are? To Adstringendum? -- that's --

It's dangerous here, Kurt. It's a far cry from the lofts of SoHo. I don't know if you'll actually enjoy yourself here.

But the Rachel he knew was strong. He has his arms wrapped around her, giving her a tight squeeze before settling.]
Danger is no match for us, Rachel. You know we can do anything together, the two of us.

[She purses her lips together.]
Adstringendum can be very much like a warzone, Kurt. It's... not easy.
I just don't want you to get hurt.
no subject
While I don't agree with the thought of a warzone, or violence for that matter. I do agree that a girl can't be somewhere difficult and frightening without her best friend by her side.
[He smiles.] Plus who else will you break out in song with?

[It's said with such a groan that you can almost believe that it is literally killing Rachel deep inside, ok.]
I do love Blaine and we make fantastic duet partners, but there is only so much we can do with our vocal range, and I need to be challenged, Kurt. My talent is atrophying away as we speak.

[After a delicate pat on the back, he draws her away from him, elbow length away. The smile on his face was absolutely evident after she groaned, y u p.]
Fear not, Blaine's incredible tenor voice will become the pathway to a simply fantastic three part harmony. Expect a challenge as soon as I arrive, a diva-off just like when we were in Glee Club.

you are my foreverfinn ok
[There's half a beat of silence, almost tentative.]
How are you?
:D
[ He tries to smile at her. ]
I'm super stoked Kurt's there for you, though. You guys are kind of like a matched pair or something.
no subject
Well -- I guess, but I haven't...
[She frowns to herself, fingers twisting together.]
I'll know before you have to go away, right? To -- Afghanistan or wherever they're going to send you.
no subject
[ Ugh. ]
For both of us. You know you can always ask my mom, if you want to check on me or whatever. Alright?

Rachel takes a few steps forward to slide her arms around him in a tight hug, burying her face into his chest.]
I miss you and everyone else so much, Finn.
no subject
Yeah, I know. I miss you guys, too. But you'll make new friends.. you've got something special, Rach.
no subject
[Somewhat loftily as she settles her head against his chest, almost petulant in her response.]
no subject
[ He tweaks the shell of her ear very gently. ]
no subject
[A gentle correction with an upward quirk of her lips as she looks up at him, amused.]
And we're going to absolutely drench it.

That much paint would cost a lot of money.

Besides, I committed my first act of social rebellion by feeding a hipster at Occupy Wall Street.

I was able to do more pushups than like, half the other new recruits.
[ Able to do more than half the other recruits, Finn? Wow - that puts you at the literal definition of average. He's just going to smile a little proudly, though, 'cause he's not going to figure that out on his own. ]
It was pretty cool.
