Tentatively...voice testing. Go easy on him ;;
Miss Mun...Are you sure this is such a good idea?
I appreciate you taking an interest in me, but it's alright if maybe you think you made the wrong choice. After all, it's an honest mistake. I'm not exactly well known.
Nervous...? Well, I suppose I should be more than you. Who knows who I am to meet here? But, if you try hard and give it your best, then I don't think you'll have anything to worry about.

[Don't mind her, she's just...having a moment.]
1/
[To him it hadn't been more than moments that he'd been away from her, and though time had taken its toll so that perhaps he wouldn't recognize her immediately her face looks so familiar and not unlike his that she can't be anyone but his little girl.]
You're...so big.
2/2
You look just like your mother now...
You didn't go and break your promise, did you? Daddy wanted to see you again before you grew old enough to get a boyfriend.
[He smiles softly.]
I'm sorry Kay. I didn't mean to stay away so long.
1/2
Promise...of course she'd kept that! Ever since that incident, she'd kept every promise as close to heart as she could...well, almost all of them. The whole speaking-to-strangers thing she couldn't help, if everyone was a stranger.]
...
[She's silent for a minute after he speaks-]
2/2
[Her arms throw themselves around his chest, clinging to him almost to the point of preventing air from getting in. She'd never been so happy to see him...alive. Alive and well.
That face of hers is buried, a mix between wanting to cry and smile, ending up with some weird choked laughter.]
You're back...

His palm lays gently on the top of her crown, stroking through her raven black locks in as comforting a fashion as he could muster. His own hand was shaking a little too, because such an emotional reunion like this...! It broke his heart to see her so sad.]
Kay, you're a good girl. I know it's been difficult for you but you've worked so hard to keep all your promises. And I'm proud of you.
So don't cry okay? Chin up. I hope you never forgot that I always loved you the most.
no subject
Of course I kept my promises...! You'd be upset if I didn't!
[When he says that, she immediately wipes her eyes and smiles.]
Dad, you're such a dork.
[The way she says it is so affectionate, though, as she nuzzles into him.]
I know that
no subject
[Such a good girl. He always knew she would be.
He's very happy she's here.]
Uncle Badd still around? I told him to keep his eye on you. Two, if he has time to spare them.

[Just seeing her dad again is such a relief, she's usually all alone.]
Oh uhm...yeah! He's uhm, he turned himself in. From the...
[She sheepishly points to her Yatagarasu pin]

[Since he died he doesn't necessarily know what happened.]
...
[He seems sorrowful for a moment when he heard about Tyrell, but he doesn't say anything, only mustering one of those smiles. The unspoken question of "he gonna be alright?" is in his worried expression yet...]
Y-you...? You took up....? Alone?
[But he isn't displeased necessarily. Yet did she think of him as merely a criminal or was its purpose clear? One way to find out.]
Kay...I...You were never meant to find out what happened, but. Is it all out in the open now?
no subject
He'll be okay. Calisto Yew on the other hand...
[Her fists seem to shake. Yeah, she caught her and brought her to justice, but...]
I won't ever forgive her, dad. Ever.
[Her shaky hands go to her scarf, pulling it up closer to her mouth.]
I had to find her...it's what a hero of justice does.
[Her eyes slightly sparkle at that. No matter what, Byrne, you're always her hero.]
I'm so sorry orz; Work waiiii ;_;
[He can't blame her, honestly. The wicked woman left her without a father. He shouldn't have ever trusted her...He blames himself, too.]
...I don't like the idea of you getting hurt needlessly. You remember what I said about that, don't you?
I know that feel bro ;; is chill
[That hug gets slightly tighter. This...this was real. She wasn't dreaming this.]
Don't let strangers see you cry, right?
I won't! It's just...the place my mun has me at has a lot of...big robots. They'll protect me. Or...some of them will.

The normal thing you say when you meet someone— the "Hi, how are you"—doesn't seem to feel right.

Technically, we've already met, in a way.

Well, who else have you met?
Who knows who Byrne is to meet here, indeed XDDD (Also, hey bb <3 )
Hah! That's priceless, coming from you, Faraday!
no subject
[Again. Why does he keep running into you? It's like a bad dream keeps following him everywhere, tracking his steps.]
It seems life has been treating you well.
[A bit of a dry statement. He's not happy about your jeering.]
I simply don't see the point in making unfair demands and forcing her to endure unnecessary amounts of stress to her detriment.
no subject
Bah. What's unfair about my demands, Faraday? Just because I expect nothing less than pure competence doesn't make it unfair! What is unfair is for fools like you to set a lower standard for our society through your leniency! It goes against everything the Prosecutor's Office stands for!
...Just why are you a prosecutor anyway, if you'd rather practice your inane vigilantism than to properly convict criminals in a court of law? Hmm, Faraday?
....HI. (belated)
You have an insane amount of dedication, I give you that. But you're inflexible. And...obsessed with a concept that's not conceivable by any human being, let alone achievable.
Guess it's just not something someone like you would understand.
[Compassion, that is. And being human...Having a conscience.]
Sometimes...if there's something you'd protect, you'd give anything for it. Justice is never done by the courts. Not fully. At least, not for those who think themselves "untouchable". They think they can throw away the law because they're above it. Because they found a way to cheat the system. If that's even possible then the system can't be perfect. That's why...I wanted to make things right. But it didn't turn out that way.
so late tagging into this but yay, another Byrne! owo
Trust him, he's seen weirder things. Way weirder.]Honestly, I don't think either one of you has much to worry about.
owo Y-youuuu. <3333 Forgiven!
He tries not to stare too much, being as it's not something he's used to, by far.]
My....mun takes that as a great compliment, coming from you and yours. She's not exactly unfamiliar with her—if only by association.
[He shifts, clearing his throat quietly.]
She says...she's not altogether certain about me suddenly taking on a life of my own.
dshjf m-me? o//o but yay! \o/ And SUPER sorry for the delay, RL stuff happened ;;
Is that so? [His smile grows wider - and he hears the mun saying something in return.] Well, my mun is pleased to hear that. And it sounds like she might know who your mun is, too.
[As for the rest... Byrne nods, understanding.] Muns often are uncertain at the start. Mine certainly feels that way every time someone new shows up in the headspace, anyway. But trust me, I'm sure both of you will be fine.
Yush u! ;; I understand! Me too. Ugh, this week. :/
Faraday can't help but seem to offer a gentle smile of his own in return. Boy, this is something, alright. A little surreal, maybe.]
Really? Well, it's a small world. She says they might have a friend in common, whose muse is a certain "perfect" prosecutor...
[Shrugs up a little then.]
Isn't that where the saying "practice makes perfect" comes in?
You can say that again, orz
Hey, look on the bright side! You could be talking to an alien monster instead!]A...ah. I see. [Aaand Byrne knows exactly who...well, Byrne is referring to. If his sudden (but brief) change in tone is any indication.
But putting his unpleasant experiences with certain "perfect" prosecutors aside...]
Exactly! The only thing you have to be concerned with is...well. [He clears his throat, and-- did his expression just get a bit more serious? Seems so...] Do you know if your mundane has any plans for you yet?
no subject
Considering who I have to contend with in her headspace, I guess he takes precedence over me so she's not all too sure yet.
no subject
Oh. [He'll just skip asking who 'he' is for now and get right to the point he's trying to make here.]
Well, word of advice. Just make sure to keep an eye on any future plans she comes up with. Muns aren't exactly... [How should he put this...] ...the kindest to us sometimes.
no subject
[It's a fact of life, that that was the way it was meant to be. Nothing was ever so simple as one might wish it to be, where muns were concerned.]
But, maybe I can get a word in edgewise if the others in her head can. I'll keep that in mind, though. Thank you.
no subject
Muns can be stubborn with the plans they have for us, but it's better to fight than not, right?
