Even if most games do revive people that have died, that's no reason to just let them succumb to their injuries.

...True. Although, there are bound to be trade-offs. I wonder if any population with this effect has a certain unfortunate mentality associated with it.

Personally, I haven't experienced anything of that sort among the patients I've treated. That's not to say it might not be there, though. [since from what's heard, people lose things upon being revived from death]

It would make an interesting study, as with anything remotely nihilistic in the presence of adverse conditions.

I guess it might, but truthfully, I'd hope that there wouldn't be any need for it. I'd like to assume that even if death isn't permanent in games, people would still try and take care of themselves as best they can.

Either there's a logic error there or... ] ...Which would imply that you would hope that eventually your duty to help and heal others would be unnecessary.

[he just wants everyone happy and healthy and not having to deal with upsetting medical information, okay. He knows accidents happen and medical issues can happen even in people that take good enough care of themselves and all that, obviously (accidents that somehow wind up with glass lodged inside people's organs. Trauma Center logic idek), but it's not too out there to wish that people would take care of themselves as well as they can so that operations and things like that are only when absolutely necessary.]

I wouldn't say that, exactly. I'm sure there's a need for doctors everywhere, since there are unforseen events that can happen everywhere, but like I said. I'd still hope that people would take care of themselves as best they can. Even if it is my job, if someone can avoid a hospital stay by avoiding certain things, isn't that always preferable?

Antibiotic-resistant strains of TB are on the rise in Europe, especially in Russia. Whether or not it's dangerous is irrelevant; medicine and research must be one step ahead, and these specialized archaebacteria may be the ladder to help doctors along.

[well he agrees with medicine having to stay ahead, but you had better be taking the proper precautions okay. And he's been busy with neo-GUILT and PGS and hasn't heard much on that front.]

Really? I haven't had as much time as I'd like to keep up with things like that. The last disease I had the chance to help research outside of Caduceus was a sort of hemorrhagic fever in Costigar.

[ Clearly she is no where near the events of TC2. She'd be devastated to hear that GUILT and Delphi are still very active too, although their continued presence is a suspicion she's always had. ]

Well, maybe. The war was winding down when Angie and I were there, though. There were still guerilla attacks occasionally [and kids holding up nurses at knifepoint], but on paper, the war was supposedly over. [supposedly being the key word]

Hm.... [ That's all she has to say about that, but clearly her mind is in overdrive picking away at the possibilities of this discrepancy. ] My greatest concern there would be infection from unsanitary means.

That was something I was worried about, too, really. Thankfully, it didn't end up being too much of an issue. The tents used as operating rooms did their jobs well enough.

At the very least, she'll know she carries an allele for a genetic disease- but no symptoms have started yet. ] Hopefully the country will continue using protective sanitation measures. Amazing to think most of the world did not know much about the transmission of pathogens until 150 years ago. We've come a long way.

He's a doctor from Costigar that I worked with when I was over there. I recommended him for an opportunity to come to America and study at Caduceus, but things didn't exactly work out. There were, ah... extenuating circumstances.
