I have a very strange feeling that you and I share the same thoughts on our respective 'mundanes' with such statements, Milady. However, is it not somehow more interesting when there is a certain element of uncertainty?
Indeed, and mustn't we all? 'All the world's a stage', you see. But I rather enjoy this, and if our mundanes share a similar trepidation I should expect we can find a sort of kindred sentimentality toward the prospect. If nothing else, I should hope I can impart upon Milady some of my own enthusiasm.
[That makes her smile.] 'And all of us merely players'? I must sound so dreary--it isn't that I'm so reluctant, exactly, only that she and I are still acquaintances. I think both of us have learning to do.
[He gives off a light chuckle.] Dreary is hardly the word, Milady, merely uncertain. I suspect the many faces of this place may all well share that same uncertainty. However, I find it a rather thrilling concept to consider. That you and I could be scant few moments from some other great adventure is a wonderful thing, wouldn't you say?

It does sound romantic, when you put it like that. Moments away from the precipice, as it were... [Well thank you, Frederic, she's quite pleased at the prospect.] And are you experienced in great adventures, sir?
My own adventures? Hmm... Well, I have done a lot of traveling throughout my life. I doubt one could call it 'adventuring', I never had the constitution for much of the outdoors, but I enjoyed a wealth of experiences in many beautiful places. I met many wonderful people, too. Authors, actors, singers, fellow composers, playwrights... You see, I was never in very good health, so my 'adventures' were of the very mundane sort.
Ah, but in my dreams I have experienced wondrous things unlike any I have in the waking world.
Don't we all? [She's not aware he's speaking about any out-of-the-ordinary dreams.] I've travelled extensively, myself; even seen the world's first flying machine! But authors, actors, singers, well!--I'll take those sorts of 'mundane' adventures off your hands, if you're so burdened. [Said with another small smile.] You compose, sir?
Perhaps, however my dreams are unique. One's dreams become most spectacular things upon the feverish precipice of death.
[He gives pause at that comment, perhaps a bit wistful at the thought of its consequences.]
Yes, Milady, I am a composer. How rude of me to have forgotten my manners. Please forgive me, and allow me to introduce myself. My name is Frédéric François Chopin, and it is very much a pleasure to make the acquaintance of your ladyship.
I--oh. My apologies for bringing up such a sensitive topic, Mr. Chopin. [She doesn't address him as 'lord', assuming that being a composer means he isn't a noble. She takes a half-step back and curtsies.] I am Natalia Luzu Kimslasca Lanvaldear. It's a pleasure, sir.
[To which Chopin removes his hat and with a due sense of ceremony, gives the lady a full sweeping bow.] A pleasure to make your acquaintance, Milady Lanvaldear. Think nothing of the matter, by the way, it is nothing I am ashamed to speak of. As I explained, my life has been full enough of wonders that I fear not for my ghost. I shall want for nothing but to rest easy.
[With that, he rises and sets his hat carefully back on his head.] It is somewhat intriguing to have found myself in this position, I must say. Here, now, speaking with you at the behest of another and yet...of my very own will. Truly a curious juxtaposition. Certainly an enjoyable one.
[ Thank you for not making fun of him, Natalia. That's why you're the best cousin. ♥ ] Good to hear your mun isn't like mine. She's kept me around for over three of their years and I've never been in a game yet.
[ Well you were kinda obnoxious at the start- /SHOT ] That's what I said! But that doesn't make a difference when it comes to applications. She hates them. [ Don't mind him sulking a bit. It's hard to be the main character. IT'S HARD AND NOBODY UNDERSTANDS ]
[ at least she didn't try to be queen of denial /crickets ] And the history section. And the samples... You'd think she were the ambassador with how she carries on. [ Apps are srs bsns okay? Okay. ]
[ TRY SINKING AN ENTIRE TOWN AND GETTING AN IMPORTANT HAIRCUT, THEN WE'LL TALK ]
...Exactly. Your player lacks confidence, and you're already convinced it'll end badly.
[Meaning it's probably not the best tactic to inspire a mundane to make an effort. Not that he has a whole lot of faith in those idiots to begin with after what he's seen.]
And yet, I find myself faced with solid evidence. I'm simply being cautious. [She does acquiesce a little at his tone.] It wouldn't do to give up before the battle though, would it?
It is a shock; people don't normally try this tactic!
Not if you intend to win, no. When faced with a challenge, a soldier will fight harder if he thinks he has a small chance at victory rather than none at all.

I'll admit, it would be nice to stretch my legs a bit.
