I appreciate how ambitious you are in preparing me for this, but you're going about this the wrong way.
Aren't you supposed to work on my voice before you make these decisions? Really. You're either frustratingly indecisive or thoughtlessly impulsive. Perhaps you need to find some sort of middle ground between these two- no, not "perhaps". Please do. It'd be to the benefit of us both.
And no, I don't sound "close enough" to him! He may not be all that bad... maybe... if I'm feeling generous- but you'd have to be a fool to not see how we're different!
Hmph.
... can't believe it, of course it's my luck...
[Alice sighs, shakes her head a bit, and crosses her arms.]
Regardless. It's a lesson learnt for the future, isn't it? We'll just have to work with this as we go now.
And stop staying up so bloody late. That ought to help.

Inglaterra, you shouldn't be so hard on your Mun, really. She's trying her best, yes?

It doesn't take an expert at these things to perhaps realise doing things backwards will only make it more complicated.
Though, I might be... after all, she did complete the bulk of the application. At least we're getting somewhere. Even if it is to a rather dark and dreary place.
[But she considers herself rather adaptable.]
no subject
[And perhaps Isabel is just far too easygoing. That has always been the case, though.]
Just give her time.
no subject
Don't you ever get that urge to just... knock some sense into someone?
[Alice could use a bit of that easygoingness.]

Some ca- some what, exactly?
[She might have all the time in the world to learn more of other languages, but hey... she very much likes English.]
no subject
[She's mostly not thinking about it when she reaches to help Alice with her pins, her touch careful and helpful.]

It works to spoil people like pampered cats, most often. Like my Scottish Fold... and my mundane is not a cat.
[Alice doesn't make a move to stop Isabel. It's just as well, since Alice would probably mess it up more without a hand mirror. Er.]
Do you have some sort of compulsion to touch everything you see being touched?
no subject
What you'd be capable of if you only but direct your spoiling more to people. I'm sure your cat loves you beyond measure.
[She seems to realize what she's doing then when Alice makes note of it, but she doesn't retreat in embarrassment. Isabel has always been quite hard to embarrass and she only greets Alice's words with another soft laugh as she finishes fixing her hair.]
No, but it seemed just right to try and help. Should I not have?
no subject
[Alice closes her eyes. It's a way of dealing with embarrassment. As much as Alice does not like to be treated as old, being doted on like a child is simply flustering. Bwah.]
Unlike a certain man- or rather, overgrown child it often seems- I know who looks like he has never seen a comb in his life, I can actually fix my own hair. ButIsupposethanksisinordersothankyou.
no subject
[She can just imagine this Watson--fat and lazy and huggable. She'd love to meet him one day if she could. She smiles sunnily at Alice's grudging thanks. It's typical Alice.]
You're welcome.

Short hair, altogether, looks like it would be much less trouble.
But if I were to cut mine, it would be quite some time before it gets this long again, and I might miss it.
[She pats a spot on her head that's a little itchy- the downside of this style is that scratching it ruins it.]
no subject
[She watches Alice touch her hair. It's quite long, yes. She also thinks the same of her own hair. Isabel has grown quite fond of it like this. It would definitely be missed if she ever finds herself with short hair.]

I ought to try something different with it every now and then. After all, it's a new place I'll be staying in.
[Symbolism is an important thing to all Englands, in all sorts of ways.

Think you'll be heading somewhere new any time soon?
no subject
[This Spain. Always so optimistic.]
no subject
[She might or might not be serious about this, but hey.]
But if the worst should happen, you can have that set of ruby-encrusted gold goblets.
[A set she fondly remembers stealing from Spain. Ahuhuhu.]
no subject
Don't you mean you're returning them, Inglaterra?
no subject
[Maybe a bit nervous? A little. But only because she is a naturally cautious person. It's not like she's afraid or anything.]
These goblets might have untold worth, but your face back then was what was truly priceless!
[Alice is so good at socializing.]
no subject
And your hands, conejita? Are they as sticky as they used to be?
no subject
Complaining already? We haven't even got there yet!
no subject
What's the difference between complaining here or there, if in either place, there's something to complain about?
no subject
Because if you do it now you'll make me not want to go!
no subject
Really now, Amelia. I'm not about to hold my tongue for just that reason.
no subject
But England, if I'm going to be stuck with you and this the whole time, why wouldn't I change my mind!
[ Because her mun says she's going and that's final. That's why. But Alice doesn't need to know that! ]
no subject
Ugh. I don't have much of a choice in this matter. But as my mundane has gotten this far, there's no use in abandoning a job that's already nearly complete! Unlike you, I have a keen sense of duty and I see matters through to the end.
[A France, and a male France at that, will be there. Reason enough for her to fight her mundane tooth and nail to be put somewhere else.]
If it's any consolation, being trapped with you will be no picnic for me either. So there's something we both can agree on for once.
no subject
Oh, what? You were hoping to keep Man France all to yourself, hmm? My mistake! I'll let the mun know we'd just be in the way if she put me there with you then!
no subject
Oh please. Please don't force me to make a choice between the two of you. The loser in this situation could be none other than me in any case.
no subject
To-o-o-o la-a-a-ate...

And it's important because people become so very sluggish without enough rest. Sluggish and... strange.
[Alice shudders. Brrrr.]
Tch. It's a wonder she's even able to sit up now.

[Alice is the most supreme nag.]
See, she even slept in today.

All that French.]
Keep that up, and you'll be the one in pain.
no subject
Aa bon, and you are juste as pleasant as I remember you. At least it will be nice to have your company again.
[ Buuuut he can be a little sarcastic. ]
no subject
I'm afraid I can't say I look forward to your company, even for the first time.
Apparently, the universe sees fit to have some sort of France wherever I go. Just when it seemed I was free from her for a time.
