So, you finally saw the latest film and you just thought you'd bring me back out to play? I told you, I don't want to play. I'm done. You can't make me do anything.

Dick Grayson. I go by Nightwing on call, but started out as Robin, Boy Wonder.

[Awkward head scratch.] You kinda trained me. And adopted me.

[Narrows his eyes.]

Right. And you're sure about that?

[Dick pulls a folded up picture from a super secret compartment of his utility belt - which in itself should look familiar.]

Yep. Bruce Wayne, also known as Batman. Patriarch of the 'Bat-Clan.' Me? I'm the eldest son.

Do I need to tell you your shoe size, or do you believe me yet?

[Bruce looks at the photo and raises an eyebrow. He accepts it, though. Sure, this kid could be...his kid.]

I believe you. Who are all the others?

Let's see... [Dick moves to point out the various people from left to right.] That's Kate - Batwoman. Took up the cowl after being kicked out of the military because of "Don't ask don't tell," then there's Cass - the second Batgirl. Her father was sort of a League of Shadows outcast who raised Cass communicating only through violence for years. Took her a while to get used to talking but, she's getting better at it.

That's Steph, fourth Robin and third Batgirl. Her dad was a criminal, and she took up the cowl to kind of make up for it. Also, biggest waffle enthusiast I've ever seen. Ever. Then there's Babs. Yes, Barbara Gordon. First Batgirl. ...Goes by Oracle now... long story.

On my left is Jason, second Robin. Another long story. In front of him is Tim, the third Robin, goes by Red Robin now. And then there's the demon brat, Damien. Fifth Robin... and my little step-brother.

...Your son.

[Pause. Pause. Pausepausepause.]

My son? I thought you were my son. Do you mean-- biologically?

You adopted me. Damien is your son son.

I don't imagine I feel any differently about you than I do Damien, just because you're adopted.

No, you don't. Don't worry. I moved out a while before that even became an issue. He's got a lot of his Mom in him, but... he's not half bad.

Who's his mother?

Yeah... that's the part that's always the toughest to explain to your world's... well... you.

His mom is Talia Al'Ghul. In my world, Ra's is still alive and kicking - despite being 'killed' multiple times, and you and Talia have a sort of... strained relationship.

[Blink.]

Well, she was very beautiful when I knew her. I guess I could conceivably....[Look, he's really trying here. Really.]

[Dick puts an arm around not!Dad's shoulders.]

I'm sorry. I know it's hard, knowing what I do about your world. Talia was... unbalanced, even in mine. But you and her had... something. If it helps, I know how you feel, sort of.

Been engaged twice. First time, a demon showed up and crashed our wedding. My fiancee at the time - being an alien princess - was then taken back to her home planet for healing or something.

Then there was Barbara. ...After Joker shot her in the back and paralyzed her from the waist down. The universe literally restarted itself before we could get married.

Wow. That's....wow. I'm sorry.

[He shakes his head, forcing that strong smile back, despite the insanely painful memories.]

Don't be. There wasn't anything anyone could've done, so, just gotta keep moving forward and such.

Right. [You're talking to a man who sat in a mansion for seven years and probably literally crusted over. He understands that 'moving on' isn't an easy concept to grasp.]
