That... person... woman? Minerva talked to me as if I were in the vault and not Ezio. Never mind the six-hundred year or so gap. So yeah, now not only do I have to worry about Vidic and the Templars hunting me down, but now the Earth's magnetic field or something is dying and we're going to be one big barbeque now?

...Are you sure I'm not back home in the hospital from a drug overdose-induced coma and this isn't just some feverish hallucination as I cling to life?

...Yeah, didn't think I'd be that lucky.

How is it your fault? I did it hundreds of years before you were even a thought in some man's mind. You could not have known.

But you will get used to that part soon enough. There are many opportunities, in places like these.

The Animus - the thing I used to see what happened to you - it has a 'bleed effect.' I experience things that happened to you as if it were happening to me. I essentially get trained in the heat of battle without having to worry about getting stabbed and stuff.

I am not quite sure I understand, but if you have learned to fight because of it, that is good.

Like you, I didn't choose the be an Assassin but was forced into it.

There's this machine called the Animus. It reads genetic memories or something. I can relive the events of my ancestors by using it.

...I guess that makes you my great great great great... great grandfather, and Altair yours.

I have no idea how it works. I can barely use my cell phone, but yeah. Apparently she knew I was going to be going through it, left that message in your memory and I just went back and remembered it.

[Sheesh, he's gonna have kids? Seriously? Well, he probably shouldn't be too surprised about that, considering how many women he's been with, but still. Damn.]

And that woman, Minerva, her message... were you able to understand its meaning?

Not even a little bit. I've got friends working on figuring it out, and they think that if something isn't done, the poles are going to switch, and literally turn the world upside down.

I don't get it. At all. All I know is that the Templars are trying to control people, and I can't let that happen.

No, whatever it is the Templars intend with the Apple must not be allowed to pass. It will be a long fight, Desmond.

Yeah. And the Templars are too blinded by ambition to realize that there won't be anybody to control if something isn't done.

So I'm learning. But don't worry. I'm not going to shy away from it. After all, I had some of the best teachers in history; you and Altair.
