Sam Beckett | Quantum Leap | Homeless
Dear Mun,
I guess it's just my luck that as soon and you finally get back into RP, sit down and write an app, the game you app me to closes. I hope you can find a home for me soon.
Let's face it, I'm not easy to place...

You're Sam Beckett! You're actually Dr. Sam Freakin' Beckett!
no subject
Yes, I am.
[He smiles broadly. Feels good to say that, doesn't it, Sam?]
Do I...know you?

Fans...?
I feel that I should know you, somehow.
[All of those comic books from back in the day? But alas, swiss-cheesed memory...]

Well, we've been bouncing around in time for awhile, Al.
We'll find something...
[He feels somewhat confident in this]

Gotta say, I've missed that optimism. Got any of that for our future prospects? Hearin' the muns were considerin' some sorta prison. You know how I feel about bein' locked up, Sam...
no subject
Prison, huh?
I'm not too keen on it myself...
I think I've been in jail before. Have I?
...maybe they will find something else...
Maybe you could walk through a few walls and point them in the right directionno subject
If there's something you're wonderin', it's a safe bet the answer's always yes, you've seen it, done it, lived it. [Chewing on his cigar.
Of course, his mun won't mention that the last time Sam was in prison was during that awful Evil Leaper Saga.]My mun's really draggin' ass here, pal. Gonna light a fire soon, if you get my drift.

Constant ret-con on the part of my canon writers. Or lazy writing. Take your pickPlus, the mun can really only manage a small, slow-moving game...

Steve understands canon issues. All the different realities that have versions of him...I kinda understand the being in the wrong time. It doesn't make things easy, but that doesn't mean that it can't work out.
Um...my mundane was looking at that game but she took over another one instead. It's small and slow moving. If you want to be sent somewhere else...

[Sam smiles. It's not often he find someone who does get it]
Would you offer a link for the mun?
no subject
I doubt it's the same as time travel and amnesia, but it's disorientating and...a lot to get used to.
It's called

[He secretly wonders how much time he's lost at this point]
The technology alone would take some getting used to, I imagine. But...I don't really need to imagine, course I usually go back and not ahead.
Hmm...I will pass that on to the mun and the one who plays Al as well. They've been trying to get us together...not that I'm complaining. A guide, holographic or not, is always welcome, I say.

[It seems strange to Steve, but then, Tony's the one that would be able to figure that out. Actually Sam should talk to Tony...though the thought of the geeking Tony would do kind of terrifies Steve.]
I know what you mean about having a friend in these games. I made my mundane agree that she'd only send me to places where Tony could get in too. I know you'd both be welcome.
no subject
OMG the name...I love it so much. Where is he from in the timeline?
Letting out a laugh that sounds a little shaky, Steve pulls his best friend in for a hug.]
You're - I - Yeah, it's me. I've missed you.
<3! I haven't played him much, mostly from waking up after THE FALL. XD Likewise, and you?!
[hugging you hard]
Don't be upset, you punk. I'm fine.
But I missed you, too.
I play mine all over the timeline. Usually after being found though I love playing pre serum
Still not used to seeing you. Or seeing you and you remembering me.
[Pulling away, he studies his friend closely, hoping this is a version of Bucky from his reality.] You're really okay? Even after I...after everything that happened?
Oh awesome. If you ever want to mess around with pre serum (or anything else) ping me! XD
[I'm still freaking out over seeing you, after I fell, but it... helps, in a weird way, that you kinda need me to be steady]
Yeah? There're multiples of us here, huh. It's darn confusing.
[heck yes, you better believe I am]
[light punch in the shoulder] You didn't cause it. And heck if I know how why, but I'm fine.
Thank you! I've been tempted to depower him on six words
There's a couple versions of you. They...they never seem to stay long. Or...
[Or Bucky's past seems to become an issue no matter how much faith Steve has in his best friend.]
Yeah, I did, Buck. [There's only a hint of the old guilt in his voice, his tone almost resigned.] I should've done more to save you.
Hee, that sounds fun!
[nuh uh, not me]
Yeah, how, exactly? [gentle but firm] Look, I'm not saying it was fun, falling like that. But it wasn't your fault I got blasted out of that train, and it wasn't your fault you couldn't reach me before my grip went.
You can't save the whole world, Steve. You saved me the first time. That was plenty.

Hello.

I'm assuming you're an alternate universe version of me. Or vice versa.

[Sam is still getting used to seeing his own face. In the mirror...and now on another person]
What year is it for you?
no subject
2155. You?
no subject
Well, Al says it's 1999 at home. And right now, well, I'm not quite sure when I am.
[A chuckle. Silly time travel jokes. Sam has them]
