On reaching the furthest point I've ever gotten too.
Well I'll be Andraste's uncle. You actually managed to go through with it. I'm impressed, It only took you what? A year? I'd get more done in a day if you just happened to let me have the controller.
[He shakes his head.]
And honestly, stop blubbering over Bethany's letter. It said she was happy. I miss her, but don't you think we tried what we could to get her out of there? It was a bitter pill to swallow but as long as she's happy I'm not starting a full-scale rescue mission on the circle. Period.
[OOC: Don't worry about Spoilers. I've read the wiki I'm just doing my actual playthrough now. |D;;]

Oh, fine. But if either of them comes after me, I'm expecting your protection.

[He grins, oh Varric.]
So, I hear that Isabela went to the clinic the other night. Start from there.
no subject
See, I can't. That was after the incident occurred. What really happened is actually quite simple. Anders brought a cat here, wondering if one of the barmaids could give it a home where the refugees wouldn't try and make a meal out of the thing. [a momentary pause while he takes a gulp of ale, then-] Unfortunately, it slipped out of his grasp and climbed the first thing it could: Isabela's leg. She shrieked louder than a Darkspawn and the poor kitten ended up falling into her boot. It came out with nothing more than a scrapped tail, but Isabela? Well, I think her leg was the least of her concerns at that point.
[snicker snicker.]
Apparently, no one actually knew she could break glass with her screams and she'd been trying to keep it a secret.

Oh dear. Poor Isabela. Well, I'm not sure your protection order stands because this is too magnificent to not torture her with. This is better than the time she started to flirt with the assassin that nearly got her!
[He laughed harder.]
Oh, and Anders is going to the naughty step for not telling me such a delicious delicious story.
no subject
That's fine. I'm just not sure you'll be able to find me until she stops wanting my head for this.
[...the naughty step, Hawke? Maker's Breath, he's not sure he wants to know.]
I should have let him tell you, then. Then he'd be the one in trouble with you and Isabela.

[Basement? What basement? That's right. He's kept it a secret from all of you. It's his panic room. There's food, water, and a charming stuffed rabbit named Sir Flopsy 'Steel Arm' III with padded bedroll and blanket. He goes down there to deal with his own problems.]
There's a key under the foot of the statue that Fenris doesn't like. If you tell anyone about anything in there? Isabela will be the least of your problems, and that is quite a scary prospect. Maybe I don't mean that.
no subject
But that's when the surprise gives way to an amused headshake. Hawke, he keeps secrets for a living. Why would he spill this?]
Hawke, did you forget how long I've known you? When it comes to facing you when you're livid or dealing with a High Dragon on my own, I think I'd take the dragon. No offense, of course, but the dragon would at least be quick about things. Your secret camp is safe with me.
no subject
[He was more fearsome than a high dragon? That... was oddly flattering.]
It must be the ale. But that was flattering. Hawke, Champion of Kirkwall more fearsome than a high dragon.
no subject
[pause. Yes, he's giving you the stink-eye now.]
Though if you breathe a word of my sobriety when you tell Blondie I said that, I'll be sure to let him know a few embarrassing secrets from your early days in the city.
no subject
[And it had turned veeeery dirty.]
no subject
[Maker, had he known you two would be this sappy he'd have never brought up the idea of a Grey Warden in the city. Oi.]
no subject
Sure.
