...fit of pique aside, you're a bit taller than the lestrade he expects. the air of a man forced to spend a considerable amount of time with sherlock holmes is the same, however. ]

That's right, [ Lestrade says, perhaps taking as much issue with being called the 'other' Lestrade. As far as he can tell, the Sherlock Holmes he knows showed up on that big honking ship in the sky first. Which makes him the Lestrade, though Greg keeps that to himself. ]

I've met your Sherlock— he's a handful, isn't he? A tad bit friendlier 'round the edges, but just a tic, really.

He's brilliant. [ um only john gets to insult sherlock, what. but after a moment. ] And difficult, I'll admit.

Oh, he's the best. [ Unlike other Lestrade, Greg has no qualms at admitting this, though he does so with a sort of dry sort of irony since Sherlock's brilliance is both his saving grace and his very worst asset, combined. ] That's not even a question, though, isn't it?

But all the details are a little bit off. Makes for a bit of a teaser at first, but— [ He shrugs. ] Expectations don't last very long. Not, when faced with reality.

And he knows it, more's the pity. [ now, that wryness john can roll with. sherlock is a mess of complications and frustration and admiration and a good healthy dose of constant exasperation, but the people who simply stand in judgment of his less than orthodox ways can all expect to be corrected. ] Not if you ask him for his opinion on the matter, no.

I've yet to meet either of them.
