it's his birthday! for some reason he doesn't like my plans ... :(

Oh, don't act as though you're so shocked that I don't approve of your plans for my birthday. I'm well aware that birthdays are a time to celebrate, and I suppose you think I ought to be grateful you even noticed it was my birthday and that you want to celebrate. Believe me, if your plans included anything other than getting me irresponsibly inebriated and making poor choices, I might consider gratitude. As it is, I really don't think it's too much to ask that I'm allowed to celebrate one birthday with dignity.

Please, do us all a favor, and perhaps consider a dinner party. A quiet dinner party.
