Okay, first of all -- I don't need a Max. I've managed to make it so far without one, and I think I've done pretty well. Okay, kissing Caroline aside, but I think I handled the fall out of that very well. He only punched me once.
Besides, Caroline and Tyler are basically a smarter version of Max and Logan. Sure they bottle up their feelings and are just as repressed most of the time, but at least they have the common sense to act on their attraction to each other and not just dance around each other and say that they're "not like that." I think if they did, Tyler punching me would have pissed me off a whole lot more.
That kiss also probably would have been more than what it was.
... Oh my God, this is not why I need a chaperone. Especially not a violent one.
Besides, I'm going to that space station where Max is already there, and Peter is too. So ... there I'll have more chaperones than I know what to do with. You should at least be happy about that one.
Also, can we talk about this space trend? Not that I'm complaining, given the last place you sent me to had no modern technology at all, but don't you think this switch up is a bit extreme? You could just send me somewhere in the middle.
Like, I don't know, home maybe? Just a thought.

And sure you need a chaperone. Someone has to make sure you youngsters aren't spiking the punch.

Spiking the punch would do nothing for me. But really, I'm running my own business. I'm staying out of trouble. I'm even tying my own shoes. I'm handling it.
[though he misses you. a lot.]

Nothing for you, maybe, but I think it'd be less for your own benefit and more for whatever shenanigans might happen because of it. ...But it's good to hear you're getting along well enough. What kind of business?
[ Dittoooooo. ]

Does it help that there were freaky space drinks involved?
[and she started it, but that's besides the point]
A courier service. I'm going back to my roots.
[if his roots weren't, you know, killing people for a covert government agency]

[ What are we, five? Come on, man. ]
A courier service - very nice. [ So happy to hear you're keeping your nose clean. c: ] And you're taking care of yourself all right?

[Peter, you should know that Alec is eternally five.]
Yeah, I'm good. For the most part, anyway.

[ A pause. ] Who's Max? And you kissed Caroline?
no subject
Max is a friend from home. She likes to think she's the boss of me. And ... yeah, I kissed Caroline. But you know her. Can you blame me?

I like her already. [ Another small pause. ] Not at all. Caroline's amazing. I was just surprised you knew her.

[She does not need to specify which part she's responding to. It's pretty much the whole thing.]

It's a term of endearment.
[She says it sarcastically, but she sort of believes it. Sort of being the key here.]
no subject
I guess I could buy that.

Really?
