And it's not a popular one, at least over here. I know there's a live action and an Anime version of it (as well as the Manga) in Japan, but I didn't really like either interpretation, which is why I stick to the comics.]

[And so as promised, Tachibana leads Kitt to a pub-like restaurant, where he proceeds to order up not only beer but a plethora of side dishes. He grins as all the food is delivered to their table.]

[Kitt's eyes go wide at all the food. And all the smells! And despite himself, his stomach growls]

This is a kinmedai sashimi salad. Mix it with the nuts and wonton skin on the side before eating.

This is deep fried eel with special sauce. Be sure to try some of it!

Cantonese noodles with lots of vegetables and prawn mayo!

Beef Negamaki with scallions! And there's an order of pork shumai and tempura on the way out too.

[He holds up his beer stein triumphantly.]

Ah, we're going to eat well!

[Kitt is following along, nodding. Thankfully, his ability to process and remember things seems unaffected by his change]

Kinmedai. Got it.

Eel? [He might look slightly queasy at that, but what's life without living?]

Wait. Shrimp mayonnaise? [Strange!]

It all smells good. That's a good sign, right? [He lifts his own stein, not sure if he should clink it with Tachibana's before taking a sip or not]

[Tachibana solves this problem by clinking it himself and downing a fair amount of the beverage in a single gulp.]

Dig in! No sense letting it all go to waste!

[He begins helping himself to the eel.]

[Ah, good. That problem's out of the way, then, so he takes a careful sip, then makes a face - it's bitter! To his palate, anyway. It might take some getting used to]

All right, then. [The noodles look promising, if messy. He'll try them. Then he nods approvingly - surprisingly good!]

I suppose being human might not be ALL bad.

[He looks quite proud of himself.]

It's the mayo that makes the especially good.

[He reaches for a napkin to wipe the dribble off his chin(!) - it tastes good, but he's not quite got the hang of eating yet]

You were right. You know your food - I'm impressed. [He actually SMILES at him]

I never thought I'd believe it. I'm still not sure about that eel, though. [He takes some, anyway]

My mother teaches cooking classes; it's only natural I'd pick something up.

[Tachibana likes that smile. It means he's pleasing someone.]

You'll find that the eel has a sweeter flavor to it than most meats. It almost melts in your mouth while still having the texture of beef.

I'd like to meet your mother. Cooking is like chemistry. It has a certain elegance to it.

[Kitt will just keep smiling, closing his eyes to savor the flavors]

Really? I haven't had beef, either. [But the smile grows wider as he carefully takes a bite, chewing slowly]

[Tachibana pushes the negamaki Kitt's way.]

All right, all right, I will! [So he does. This just keeps getting better and better! He tries another sip of beer, too - even that doesn't seem so bad, now!]

I think I'm glad I met you. You're not so bad for a human.

Still, I don't see how you can argue that a Trans Am is better than a Ferrari...

I have a computer back at my apartment, but I'm sure there's an internet cafe or something similar around here. We can go there after we're done here.
