Oh man! I have always wanted to go on a cruise! [Ellis flashes a grin, clearly excited.] I ain't worried that it's not fancy or nothin'--who has the time to worry 'bout stuff like that durin' the apocalypse [aside from Nick], y'know? It'll be fun, like a vacation!

My vacation from them ugly ass sons-a-bitches [zombies, he means, not his traveling buddies.]. Shit, I'm all giddy now!

Uhhhh... I wouldn't be too excited.

[Pretty girl alert! Ellis clears his throat, and adjusts the baseball cap on his head nervously, though he's quick to paste on a goofy grin.]

I can't see no reason not to be! A big ol' ship, with bunches of people--I mean, don't it sound like fun?

Add creepy monsters and limited food and ammo supply and then you have what we're headed too.

[She sighs and puts a hand on her hip.]

[Her statement doesn't seem to phase him, and when she finishes with an apology, he gives a shrug of his shoulders, grinning still.]

Why are you apologizin'? It ain't necessary, or nothin'. I know where I'm headin', and what's gonna be there, but ain't no reason to be focusin' on the negative. [He pauses]

So, uh, you headin' there, too, huh?

Yup. Packed up and shipped out as soon as apps open.

[She sighs and shakes her head.]

I have friends there though. Leon, Someone who knows my brother and Sherry, a little girl I... took care of.

[She leave it at that.]

My name's Claire. What's yours?

Oh man, I bet that'll be nice, huh? It's always good to be surrounded by friends, especially in the thick of things. [Ellis isn't so certain how he feels about a little girl being stuck on the ship, but it's not like he can do anything about it.

He wipes his hand off on his coveralls, and thrusts it out for a friendly shake.] It's damn good to meet'cha, Claire. I'm Ellis.

It's good to meet you to Ellis.

[She smiles and gives his hand a good shake. She's used to bikers and people in rest stops along highways.]

So uhhh... you don't seem to be too freaked out by the idea of monsters.

[Ellis gives a short laugh as he scratches the back of his neck. This girl even had a great handshake. Oh man.] Ain't no reason to be. I mean, don't get me wrong, 'm sure they're dangerous, but once you deal with hordes of the undead, you can really deal with anythin'! It can't get no worse than back home.

What 'bout you? You seem pretty calm 'bout it all.

[She shakes her head.]

You live through one outbreak of T-Virus, monsters kind of don't scare you anymore. Well, if you have a gun that is.

I ain't ever heard of a T-Virus before, but if somethin' can be killed with a bullet, then you can probably kill it with an axe. [Or some other blunt/sharp object within reach, but he gets her line of thought. A gun provides a sense of safety that other weapons just don't seem to provide on their own.] It's a helluva lot easier with a gun, though!

I'd prefer a gun. Something about letting a Zombie get close enough to grab me is just wrong.

[She smiles at Ellis. He's kind of adorkable. Like the mechanic shop's boys you meet when you're biking cross country.]

Have you got a favourite gun?

[ Chell just sort of stares at him with this you've-got-to-be-kidding look. With a sigh she switches it to text. ]

Someone lied to you. It's not vacation.

[Wait a second? Is that...? Oh man. Ellis stares dumbfounded for a moment before he lets out a chuckle, his face stretching into a big ol' grin.]

Man, oh man. You know what? You look just like this girl I met a little while back. Her name is Zoey, and she wore this red jacket, and--[He laughs again] I am not kiddin', you two could've been twins or somethin'!

[The text seems to have been forgotten.]

[ Great, he's going to be a talker isn't he? Just her luck. She sighs and gives it another shot. ]

Listen. Don't come here. Horrible things happen every day with no way off. It's bad.
