Calling you stubborn? [ Letting herself be reeled over, she steadies a hand against his chest. ] Spirits forbid that should ever happen.

[ He ducks his head to nudge the tip of his nose against hers. ] You didn't learn the first time?

I wouldn't call it complaining. It's more like a passing worry.

[ Reaching up to tweak his nose lightly. ]

I learned a lot about you the first time around, Mako.

I wouldn't be so nice. I don't know what's she's told you, but the City stinks.

Is that how you do it? Run someone over, learn some pretty amazing things?

[ Both hands curl at the curve of her waist and squeeze teasingly. ]

Every city's got its perks. This should be no different.

[ Pretending to consider it, her wrists drape over his shoulders. ]

I don't think I'll be doing any driving the next time we meet.

And why is that, beautiful?

[ Mako's begun to pull her close again, this time until their hips meet. ]

[ Almost tiredly, she traces his jaw-line with her nose and nestles into the curve of his neck. ]

I'm not sure that carousel place even has any satomobiles.

[ He closes his eyes to her touch, arms now sliding around her waist. He cups the back of her left shoulder with a hand, letting her warmth and the combined scent of her perfume and shampoo wash over and relax him. ]

It won't kill us to have to walk everywhere.

[ He's always so warm and reassuring, it's a load off her shoulders just to be held by him. As such, he gets a peck on the corner of his lips for his trouble. ]

I don't mind walking anywhere with you, you know that.

[ Or should remember, at least. ]

[ A peck? Is that it? Doesn't matter, he'll take what he can get. If it's pecks and cuddling hugs, Mako will take that over nothing any day. ]

How could I forget? [ Quiet murmur: ] Is it true? You'll be joining me?

[ Greedy boy, wait till they're alone! ]

I hope so. That's the plan, anyway.

I thought my mun was playing cruel tricks on me. [ His lips find her temple and rest there. ] I hope so, too.

[ Urgh, can she just stay here forever? Welp. ]

It's not going to be easy for us. You realise that, right? Out here I can know all about the things that are going on and why, but in the thick of it ...

[ His arms tighten. He wants to keep her there, safe, protected. ]

[ She could argue. She could say it's always been easier for you, but she doesn't want to. Fighting is so tiring, when did that become all they were about? ]

I miss you so much.

[ It's better that she doesn't argue, at least not right now. It could turn ugly real fast. ]

Asami... [ He ducks his head to let his forehead rest at her shoulder. Doesn't matter that he has to slump down so far because of the height difference. ] You have no idea, I'm going out of my mind worrying there. You weren't with me when I woke up. I didn't know what to think.

[ Sliding a comforting hand through his hair, the embrace collects him into her tall frame. ~~At least she isn't as short as Korra, HUH?~~ ]

This is going to be really weird for both of us. I'd like to think we could work through anything.
