[Ozma. The name once had meaning, from a time long since passed from Gaia's memory. In those days, great beings walked the earth, and men gave them great names, even worshiping them as gods. As ages passed, these so-called deities died, but their legends persisted, and the deities took on forms immortal. Men called them Eidolons. However, for every god whose legend was granted immortality, there were countless more whose stories became forgotten. These unfortunate ones disappeared into the formless abyss of time, all save this one. This thing that should not be, yet now and forever is, now contemplates its purpose, the reason its mundane might possibly have deigned to breathe it life anew. What possible reason could the mundane have for choosing me? The being wonders. It now seeks the counsel of other muses on how it should react to this dubious event.]

[While not completely familiar with the formless evil before him, Destruction has known beings like it in the past. Hell, he's even assisted in creating some of the evils in the universe. Now he just smiles, reassured by the beings curiosity about it's own continued existence.]

Perhaps your mundane hopes to learn from your aeons of experience? After all, what better teacher is there than a God? Fallen though you may be, Gods don't stop being what they are just because there's no one to believe in them. They simply...change form, to fit the times.

[It does not know how to answer the mortal's question. Does it even know itself anymore? Finally, after a pause, it projects a single word into Sephiroth's thoughts, the name of its shattered existence.]

[After replying, its force beckons for the speaker to reciprocate by speaking the name by which he is called.]

[Hearing all this, Ozma experiences an emotion it cannot easily recall. After so many years of doubting its own reality, here another being comes to validate Ozma's existence. A calmness, a serenity of satisfaction washes over it, and the dark half of the sphere begins to spin in macabre delight.

A question enters its mind. What is this presence that has seen fit to speak these words to it? And by what authority does it name Ozma a god?]

Oh, you wouldn't know me but in passing. I am Destruction, in much the same way you are. Unlike you, however, I had a change of heart with regards to my place in the universe. Destruction is merely the name I keep now to prevent another from being cursed with it.

[As if in answer, the being's upper hemisphere begins to revolve at a rapid speed, and a barrage of Holy magic rains down upon the SOLDIER.]

[The being senses no bile in the implied reference to its own destructive nature, and even if it had, rage is an emotion unknown to such entities as these two. Nevertheless, Ozma suddenly casts Doomsday, and a great meteor appears high above the meta-space, its gravity such that it pulls the world towards itself, rather than the other way around.]

[Destruction smiles, and reaches a hand up. The Meteor seems to be pulled to Destruction himself, but it...shrinks? Down to the size of a beach ball, which it suddenly is.]

I can admire your dedication, though you really ought to know better. Destructive shadow magic? That was one of my finest creations as a younger man.

[If this being were capable of showing its reaction, to say it would bear the visage of shock would be an understatement. Both hemispheres rotate about their common equator, and a magical barrier appears between Ozma and Destruction.]
